Neil deGrasse Tyson - JWST Images Shatter Our Understanding of The Universe?

Renowned astrophysicist and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson discusses the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and its potential to shatter our understanding of the universe. The JWST is one of the most advanced telescopes ever built, and its launch in 2021 promises to revolutionize our understanding of the cosmos.

In the video, Neil deGrasse Tyson begins by describing how the JWST works and how it will make new discoveries by peering deeper into the universe than ever before. Then fellow physicist Michio Kaku, explains how the telescope's findings could challenge our current understanding of the early universe.

According to Kaku, the JWST is revealing new information about the formation of galaxies its forcing us to reconsider what we know about the cosmos.

Finally, Neil deGrasse Tyson discusses some of the images captured by the JWST, including stunning views of distant galaxies and stars. He emphasizes the importance of continued scientific exploration and the critical role that the JWST will play in advancing our understanding of the cosmos.

I love that quote. "As the area of our knowledge increases, so too does the perimeter of our ignorance."

We've seen lots of clickbait articles saying JWST has debunked the big bang theory however scientific journalism should be setting an example for journalisn and not producing clickbait articles in a time of misinformation. Stand Up for science.

Still amazed at how little of the universe we know. Here's to the future of space exploration.

I can't stop smiling. Tyson and Kaku are my two favourite scientists. Having these two giants of astronomy and physics engaged in dialogue is my idea of Nirvana!
Loved this presentation. More, please!

They keep it real 💯
Humble and smart.

Sounds like JWST is doing exactly what it was suppose to do.

How little we know, oh how much more humble our scientists need to be.

Reading Thomas Kuhn right now and his writings on scientific revolutions age well with these discoveries.

To Simply say it: “We found new questions instead of new answers.”

In my opinion Goverment should enforce a health protocol to follow for brains like these two guys so we can keep them happily and healthy alive with us for longer. We should not loose these minds. They are a treasure.

Kudos to the engineers and scientists of JWST what a creation!

The fermi paradox always seemed silly to me, i think the size of our universe alone is the only reason we can't see other life. Its the great divide that may never be conquered

A humble reminder of how little we really know.

That's the unpredictable fun of scientific discovery. You thought you had it figured out, but you didn't. It's not like this. It's actually like that. It's the surprise of finding out things were much more magical than you initially thought.

That those early mature galaxies are so close to the start of the Big Bang is simply gobsmacking, for it raises that elemental scary question 'what else don't we know?'
