Swim University makes pool and hot tub care easy for millions of homeowners. Each year, we continue to help more people with water chemistry, cleaning, and troubleshooting. We know taking care of a swimming pool or spa can be difficult. And it’s hard to find a trusted source of information. This is the reason we created Swim University.

Is waste the same one as the drain sign ( two arrows pointing down) on a bestway sand filter?

How do I do this with an above ground pool, sand filter pump, but not a built in skimmer, only a skimmer hooked up through the port B hose?

Vacuum to waste? That is crazy. I have a 16, 000-gallon pool with a 3 HP pump pulling 85 GPM. My pool will be a third empty in the time it takes me to vacuum the entire thing.

Every time i do this the only disadvantage is that my pool looses lots of 🌊 water

Wouldn’t want to pull 1000 gallons every week from my well. If properly maintained your pool should rarely build up enough algae that would clog up my filter. I always backwash my filter when done. I’ve had my pool for 20 years and never have had algae in my pool. I use Baquacil instead of chlorine.

I want tk get something similar to the pool daddy which has the capabity to filter aglae as well as fine sedimentt and can vacuum to waste or back into the pool. So far I haven't found a homeowners Version of this mightly vacuum. Its very costly and more for commercial use. Not often, but when we have these Santa Ana wind events the fine silt stays in the pool unless its vacuumed out. Its a huge ordeal for me. My robot cant do it all. Whst i have to do is back wash, open the filter, remove the DE Grids and run the filter on backwash to vacuum to waste. Its the only way to get that very fine silt out or it will clog my filter gtids. The fires and wand absolutely destroyed my pool.

Just use a skimmer basket lid or whatever the name is and just vacuum the debris will get stuck in the basket

You also pay for this, since you now have to bring the water back up to the correct level.. and even worse if your not quick about it.

Why wast so much water? Just use a pool sock.
