You can add installer projects straight from Visual Studio the following way:

In Visual Studio, in the top menu (with file, edit, tools...)

-Click on "extensions",
-choose "manage extensions",
-choose "online" (it's the default), it includes the marketplace.

-Type "installer" in the top right search bar,
-click MS VS Installer Projects, then "download".

-Close Visual Studio, then the VSIX installer will run automatically.
-click "Modify" when prompted.

-Profit.

Great tutorial. Been looking for a DotNet 5 Setup Project tutorial. Apparently, Primary Output doesn't work for DotNet 5 now. :(. It doesn't ever give you the EXE in the Program Files folder, just a DLL. Any idea when Microsoft will support DotNet 5 Setup projects in VS2019? I've complained to MS, but it falls on deaf ears. Anyone?
