Outshine the natives in French? Here's how! 🇫🇷✨ #shorts

Avoid common mistakes that even native speakers make.

Take this frequently misused verb with an example object: “Je me rappelle de cette soirée.”

Spot the error?

It's the unnecessary “de”.

The correct form is “Je me rappelle cette soirée.”

This mistake often slips into everyday speech, possibly because the similar verb “se souvenir” does use “de”.

By fixing this tiny error, you're already on your way to speaking French more accurately than many natives!

if you want to speak frenc easily and fast, start by learning to complain a lot and swear a lot. then add a lot of and and "rhooo" between every sentence 😜

Same with « hériter ».
Ma grand-mère nous a quittés. J’ai hérité DE sa maison.
Nope. «J’ai hérité cette maison DE ma grand-mère.
On hérite quelque chose DE quelqu’un.
Bises.

Apparently NOUS is a big mistake and they think it's funny. It's hard to just use ON when it's almost in no lessons until advanced.

Je m'en rappelle. Le "en" qui est inséré à la place de ce fameux "de", n'est ce pas?
Cefnonn est perplexe...

Thanks Alex. But I think you do use de with an emphatic pronoun? Me me rappelle de toi. Is that right?

Well, you've got a British accent when you speak french.... Gotta work on that before trying to master french grammar.

Uh oh. I hear the wind whistle, the sagebrush tumbling and a French Clint Eastwood facing you in the street with hands on his pistols saying "Them's fightin' words, mister."
Interesting point....but you may have ruffled some feathers with the title.
