Purchasing links is against Google guidelines when it is done to improve rankings but you can buy no-follow links like in advertisement to gain traffic. A guest post in a good site with a no-follow link can be bought to improve your traffic.

I really don't get why people would spend a lot of money and a huge amount of time doing this, maybe I am old (and cheapy Dutch) school but for the amount of money you have to pay for links on websites that may or may not be around next year, why not just build your own PBN, sure it will cost you a couple of 1000 dollars, but you own it, you control it.

I have done outreach and almost 99% of the sites (tech niche) are charging between $100 to $500 per link and you have to write a unique HQ article,

I have a PBN (where the P is really private) of 36 websites that I have built up since 2015 cost me about 5K to set up and 1K per year to maintain and I am not even talking about the hours I saved looking for links (and I really value my time as I am already old) and it will boost rank my sites nicely.

I really don't get this way of doing ofside SEO, but its just probably me 🤣🤣
