Elliott Ness accomplished a lot during his career. Capone was charged with tax evasion but it was only accomplished through the work and evidence gathering of Ness. He also was the first to create a Traffic Division to handle those cases specifically highlighting public safety and instituted immediate arrest for drunken driving. There is much, much more he accomplished. C’mon people it’s a search away. One guy getting away does not destroy an entire career. He got away from the entire law enforcement community, not just from Ness.
