Loved your video Keenan. Just remember that when you visit Cuba you are an outsider. I was born in the US and I am of Cuban descent. I first visited Cuba in 1997 at the age of 28, still had some relatives there from my moms side, and still I was an outsider..! They referred to me as "El Yuma" or even "Gringo"... I also found Cuba and Cubans to be beautiful. I also observed that they never truly share their true feelings or insights. You ate well and even had vegetables..! I've visited my family about a dozen times and never once did they have any vegetables... I understand your point of view, it was mine too initially, until I faced how "backwards" this country actually is. I mean, I was visiting a cousin in Central Havana, I took a shower and when I went to the bedroom to get dressed, the light bulb burned out... Knowing their situation and how poor they were, I decided to go out and buy them a new light bulb! Easy right? I'm an American tourist with $$$. How hard can this be? Well, I took a taxi, went to 5 or 6 so called "Stores" and NOTHING. 5 hours into my hunt for a Light Bulb, I finally found a "Store" with ridiculous prices, but there was a table lamp with the light bulb I was looking for... Girl behind the counter, Sorry Sir we can't sell you just the light bulb. Okay, how much for the table lamp? $10 US dollars. Fine, I bought the lamp, took the light bulb and left the lamp. They all looked at me as if I was insane. Really? All I wanted was the light bulb, didn't even care about the price. I finally returned to my cousin's apartment with the light bulb. Since I had taken so long (almost 5 hrs) they all assumed I had gone out to get "Some"... Bottom line is that there is no correlation to how you think and how they think. BTW. Cuba also has an underground nightlife... Super surprising and most unexpected... I met a "Spoiled Brat" from Cuba and he took me to; Comedy Clubs, Exclusive Night Clubs and even after hours parties. The same kind you find in Miami Beach, VIP all the way..! Guys and girls all tricked out, arriving in Mercedes Benzs and limos. I was like WTF? These elites are mostly the children of Generals and Colonels if you catch my drift... Conclusion... Cuba may be poor, it may be considered a third world country, but in reality... Cuba is a totally different PLANET..!

Im Canadian and pretty well traveled. My GF is always suprised when I say CUBA is a low key favorite of mine. Ive visited alot 'nicer' places by most individuals standards but something just speaks to me about Cuba in my soul. Ive only spent 2 days in Havana but its a favourite. Would love to stay for a week next time.

Hey brother I grew up in bklyn too. I can't speak Spanish but we all would jam to the music that the Puerto Ricans would play. It's the rhythm of the music, it's the universal language.

I've never been to neither Cuba nor D.R. but Cuba seem to always embrace their african heritage but D.R. will deny it.

Thanks 4 the content my friend. I miss my country and came to YouTube to find some piece of it and I get it from you.
Cuban in Washington over here. Let me tell you this: you still have a long way to go to really really know how is to live in Cuba. But you're for sure in the right path

Keenan, your Cuba videos are the BEST on YouTube and strive for the most realistic and honest experience for anyone who wants to see the depths of this great nation. I love Cuba and have traveled two dozen times to all parts of the island and will continue to explore the culture and its people. A GIANT thank you for your hard work. 🍻👍

hi,
I was planning to visit Havana for a few days. the thing is I really like boats and I was wondering if you know if there are any boats for rent or sale in Havana

As i sit here thinking, I am wondering why China hasn't reached out to Cuba as a fellow communist nation, and invested in the island? I know about the embargo, but surely the U.S. wouldn't want to start a war over other communist nations becoming allies with Cuba! Or better yet, why don't the BRICS nations recruit Cuba into their burgeoning conglomerate and help build that nation back into what it should be by now, which is a beautiful island paradise tourist attraction?? Just wondering, It is a shame what the U.S. has been allowed to bully Cuba all these years because Castro wouldn't allow those racist ass gangsters to treat his people like crap while they got rich off of them. SMH, this country( U.S.) is such hypocrites when it really comes to right and wrong!!

Statically? I love it. I think the music in general is what sets the tone and the mood. The fact that Cuba isn't as fully explored or as exposed to the rest of the world means most people's true appreciation and connection with Cuba is the music. At least the initial thing that draws people in.

Keep it coming, boss 😁

Great video Keenan. Question, what is the name of the song in the very beginning/intro, and who is it by? Love that song, the small sample size i heard. Again, great video!
