I DESPISE my black composite kitchen sink, I call it the Heart of Darkness that I have to look into every day. But thank you so much for giving me a method to make it look better until I can have it replaced.😊 After that I'll be back on your channel to find out how to clean a white one! Yeah, I know how to clean sinks but keeping kitchen sinks looking good is next level stuff!

Great video! 👍 I use a vinegar and water mixture to clean the hard water/calcium on my fauctes. It works really well! Then, I use a brush to clean it up. My shower head and faucets look brand new!

Wow that seems like a ton of Barkeepers Friend! I've never used that much product on anything! Some of that oil will wash off but if you're not filling your sink, the sides still look great.

I endured one of those sinks for 5 long years.
HATED IT with the white hot heat of a thousand suns!
☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
I quickly learned not to use any type of gritty cleaner...even the softer grit stuff like Soft Scrub...because it took forever to rinse off. And when you think it's finally rinsed and let it dry...SURPRISE!!! White streaks!🤷🏻‍♀️
Ultimately I settled down with a foaming bathroom cleaner, like Scrubbing Bubbles.
That eliminated the streaks, but I still hated the sink because I never knew when it was dirty and I never knew when it was CLEAN!
Did I miss a spot? Hell if I could tell !!
Now I'm in a house with a stainless steel sink, which I hate somewhat less.
Why don't people use white porcelain for sinks any more??
A question for the universe.🌌

Love your videos. Have you ever done any videos for people thinking of renovation projects on what materials are better/worse for long term maintenance? I always wonder if people end up regretting black sinks, black faucets or those kitchen faucets with the spiral thing on the outside. As I'm looking at ideas, I want to pick the best materials that will work long term.

Exactly the same method we have used for 14-plus years but have not tried the BarsKeeper and mineral oil (used olive oil). Caution using Dawn PowerClean, it will strip away that oil protection layer.

One of my clients have black composite sink in the laundry room, they wash their shoes( here in Georgia the ground is reddish, like clay) and also they wash the dog. I didn't used Barkeeper's friend, as I thought it might cause more haze (it has a little haze already) and I never used mineral oil. 😁 So you really have to let it sit about an hour? Of course I'll ask the owner if he wants me to try it 😁

THANK YOU!!! I will give this a try. I am one of the unfortunate ones to have this type of kitchen sink (Left behind by the previous owners). I've seen cleaning kits with products for sale for $70 to do this same project.

Does this also work for black faucets. I renovated my bathroom with black faucets and shower and the water spots and haze are making it look old after 1 year of use. Would love to see a video on that if you are looking for ideas. Thanks

Love your channel thrilled to discover you through Dr Oz recently, his daughter is addicted to you, and I can see why, I was looking for a man's perspective of DIY's and how to's and I have learned so much more than from all the women's perspective I have been following. QUESTION: I have a granite sink and yes I hate it I have hard mineral water, what is the best way to clean and remove the water stains and can I use food grade mineral oil to pretty it up like you did for your sink?

I love this! I'm gonna make one! I've been using dowel Rods and a basket but I'm running out of space and the dowels are starting to bend, so this will work perfectly 😊
