I keep the inside of my pans pretty clean but the bottoms could use some attention. This video has motivated me to get going on that! Thanks!

I also use barkeeper's friend to clean heat tint, and it gets rid of it a lot faster than vinegar. I don't care about scratches too much, so this works for me!

We thought our stainless steel griddle was done for but this took care of it. Thank you!

I’ve had great results from a little barkeeper’s friend when my stainless steel doesn’t look quite perfect. Both exterior and interior. Also fantastic for sinks.

Great video! My stainless steel/cast iron/stainless steel set of pans were purchased in 1967 - and still look and work fabulous, using Bar Keepers Friend all these years. Except for the 1 small pan which caught fire when I fell asleep while melting wax. The pan was rescued by rushing it outside and quickly shoveling dirt in it. Pan cleaned up nice except it left it colored all blue & pink. I will be using your vinegar trick immediately!

One thing I’ve noticed with my pans is that regularly cleaning the grates on my gas stove means not as much buildup on the pans! Spray Dawn platinum makes that a lot easier.

You are the best, and I'm extremely picky as I own a cleaning business! I have gotten so many tips from you that I've been able to incorporate into my cleaning jobs, pass tips on to clients, and recommend your channel to them. I have watched tons of cleaning channels over the years that were either recommended to me or for amusement due to some bizarre cleaning hack or cleaner that never really works. You should have millions of subscribers. You will soon!!

I have an induction cooktop and so cleaning the pan bottom is really important! Thank you for motivating me post Christmas! Pans do sometimes get overheated accidentally! I’m slowly replacing my pots and pans with stainless steel ones with no non slip on them whatever, as the minute you accidentally overheat a non slip surface it is impossible to get it back to what it was. So this is very timely advice!
You are meticulous and incredibly thorough in your presentations. Thank you very much, and Happy New Year to you !! 🎉

Great tips. The white vinegar solution made my 60 year old pans look new again. No rainbow colors on the inside of them. Thanks

Thanks! I just finished cleaning the baked on grease off my All Clad roasting pan with Bar Keeper's Friend and a plastic scraper. Looks like new!

bottom of the pan, wire wheel on a grinder. nice and clean in 30 second.

I’ve used easy off. I used it once to one of my moms pan that she got from the 80s and she asked me where I bought new once since she hasn’t found that exact model since. Lol

Vinegar is a game changer for getting that discoloration out. Barkeeper's Friend makes a stainless steel version of their powder that is also super. I have some expensive stainless steel pans that are under a year old and I notice no scratching at all from a good scrub with these ingredients. I abandoned non-stick pans a while back and really prefer the stainless steel and carbon steel pans now.

I've been using Bar Keepers friend for years on my cookwear and love it. My grandmother use to use vinegar and a little salt as abrasive .

What used to use to the clean the bottom of my cookware when dirt would build up on the bottom was to use something called Gel Gloss which is an all purpose kitchen & bathroom cleaner and it worked really well. I have Bar keepers Friend so i'll have to try using that next. Thanks for for cleaning tips!

The blue Scotch-Brite pads are the ones to use. The green ones are very aggressive and will scratch ANYTHING as you said, but the blue are about the same as the other scrubber you were using. Not to mention the blue Scotch-Brite are generally cheaper. I also use Barkeeper's Friend inside and out for my pan. There is no need to do it separately like you did unless you have a LOT of buildup to clean off. I just wash my pan like the rest of my dishes, rinse off, and immediately sprinkle some BKF on it and scrub it down. I do this every wash and I never have to worry about anything building up on it really bad.
All my stainless cookware is All-Clad, so it isn't cheap, but I have no worry about using the blue pads and BKF on it. I have an older gas stove, so the bottom is scratched up something fierce from the metal grates, but the outside and inside is nice and shiny.
And on a side note: Oven cleaner (main ingredient is Lye for the yellow cap version) is great for cleaning cast iron pans. It's perfectly safe to use even on cooking surfaces as long as it's thoroughly washed afterwards. You need to be really careful when using it on stainless cookware though, as Lye WILL damage aluminum. There is a some cookware that is either aluminum with a steel clad base, or stainless surface with an aluminum clad base. Lye CANNOT be used on those pieces. It will damage them. Plus you have to take proper safety precautions when using any Lye product. I use it all the time on to strip cast iron, but I have chemical gloves and proper eye protection to keep myself safe.

just gifted myself a NIB, unopened set of SS cookware by KitchenAid for a real bargain....got at a thrift store, was going to resell, and thought, nope, i deserve to have this one! going to sell all my rough, used, old pots/pans/dishes in a garage sale this summer. i have never had new cookware, and the instructions for cleaning said to use 'SS cleaning solution". well, i have been looking for such a thing for weeks now. all the SS cleaners sound like i wouldnt want to apply them to a food use surface. i did just buy some proper scrubbies, and i will use your method and hope for the best. i know i will be burning them LOL i am no cook!! wish me luck keeping them as beautiful as they are now!! thanks!
