Aluminum Production Line Takes Shape in the Swamp

In Episode 32, I dive into setting up aluminum ingot production in my new aluminum outpost, located at the edge of a dangerous swamp. To produce aluminum ingots, I begin by mining bauxite ore and sending it to a massive refinery, where it’s mixed with water to create alumina solution. This solution is then fed into another refinery along with coal to produce aluminum scrap. A byproduct, water, is recycled back into the process. The aluminum scrap is smelted into aluminum ingots, using silica produced from quartz crystal.

While setting up the coal line for this process, I stumble upon a SAM ore deposit and set up a conveyor line to transport it back to the aluminum outpost. Throughout the episode, I'm constantly on edge due to the swamp being full of mega-spiders, although none attack me this time.

Despite running low on resources, I manage to get aluminum ingots producing, though at a reduced rate due to a shortage of silica—something to address in a future episode. Lastly, I set up my first freight stations, preparing to ship aluminum ingots and SAM ore back to the main base.
