In the Old South, it was common to have a separate “Cook House” set apart from the “Big House”. Because of the Southern Heat and Humidity this arrangement made sense ( and for Fire Safety). The Main Meal of the day was prepared right after breakfast during the cool of the morning. That meal was served at noon, then the remainder was covered with sheets/towels and served for Supper at the day’s end. It was just too hot in the Summer to be cooking all day!

that's awesome Dave!!! inknow my grandparents house had some stuff like that . a cellar for storing canned garden foods, potatoes, onions, ect . then they had all wood stove equipment for baking, frying, ect . my papaw had his smoked shead for smoking meats and canning them they had a small farm with ponds and hunting large and small game . they didn't have much money but were the happiest people you.could meet . I think that's why I have stayed here in Indiana. Great informative video as always Dave! take care and stay safe my friend!!

Great setup mate, quite similar to our thoguh ours is slightly bigger & spacious. Next to the outback kitchen we have a workshop for repairs & making of item that we need. It's quite cost effective. We do have The Lodge where students & instructors bunked on their first & last night of their classes. You are our mentor DC, all we do here is through your teaching & shows. We acknowledge that to all our students & instructors. Cheers mate.

Being from Columbus, GA I really like the Royal Crown Cola sign. A lot of people do not realize that Coca Cola was also invented in Columbus, GA by a Confederate Calvary soldier (Col. John Pemberton) who was also a pharmacist trying to create a pain killer for a saber wound he received during the Battle of Columbus, GA

That’s a neat outdoor kitchen. Those drawers are tight enough to keep most critters out as well.

Another way, use the bus tub as the spacer as you set/screw the supports in. Nice kitchen area, and nice and dry!

You know, I was just sitting here thinking about the journey your YouTube Channel has taken. I've been watching you a long time, well before the Discovery Channel Foray. I remember your thing was the Versa Pack, do you remember that? I do. The 5 and 10 C's thing was brilliant, by the way.... Made you famous in the bushcrafting world, the world over. What a journey, my friend. Love watching your vids. In fact, do you have any of those old videos? Might be fun to re-upload them in a flashback series.
