I’m surprised you didn’t mention “A Minute on Indian Education” which is primarily what many students today, including myself, really know him from.

Macaulay and that book in particular gets a bit of a kicking in my new novel out next Spring! Actually all academic History does, but he gets name-checked. I would say Whig History is a teleology that is the glorification of/ or justified by, a concept of progress towards where we are now in the present. That word 'progress' is key and why I think it's hard to maintain that Whiggish history is back in vogue now, but the now is all about regression! You'd only read him for his language now.
