I definitely need to pick up another agdor I trimmed it up and I also scored a excellent handle 👌and fitment.I used to have it in my truck as I always have atleast one with me and I unexpectedly received a bunch of photos and memories little things my father and mother had unfortunately they are both 💔passed on and I gifted the axe🪓 to my lil cousin who will certainly enjoy a fine axe to help heat his home in the Washington mountains.

It’s really cool that you’re turning other guys onto this. You went with the right Swedish axe! I think that’s probably the best all around cordwood axe.

The Agdors are fit much better than CT because they are not pressed on. Not saying it won’t come loose, but I doubt it will the first day lol.

Go the HB! Good stuff man. Montreal's pretty close to an ideal cordwood axe imo, good all rounder. Congrats on the job👍 the shootout between the pack axe and the husky would be pretty cool, love the enthusiasm!

Since you asked… I reground the woodcraft axe to an all purpose grind an hung it on a 28” handle and it’s the only axe I use anymore. It’s better than all the others. But the woodcraft flat grind sucks and the handle broke right away. But after some work she’s my go to. I’m interested to see what you think after tuning and using the woodcraft axe.

I’m interested in the pack axe review. I know it’s 5160 steel, which I like a lot, but I’ve heard many people mention quality control issues with it especially heat treatment and edge issues. Would be interested in hearing your experience.

The agdor is my go to axe. Love it. I reshaped the palm and it looks much nicer IMHO than from the factory now.

Congrats on the new axe and position! Can't wait to see it in action!

Great news about your promotion! I think you will love the Montreal after tuning. The slightly wider bit is nice for limbing. I wanted the sheath to fit the head better so I changed the rivet positions of the two by the heel. I think they use the same sheath for the larger head model as well. As for the order of future videos, I say film the ones you are most excited about and I'm sure we will all love them.

Congrats on the promotion as well as the agdor! Been eyeing one of those myself just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I am curious to see how it is out of the box for you

Congrats on the promotion, that’s awesome! Sweet axe too! I’ve never used an HB though I’ve handled them once in person.

What was the length? 28”? Weight?

18 degree flat with a 3/4” handle thickness and she will be a cordwood monster!

I see you have the Bret Mccloud axe book. Is it any good? A forestry professor of mine said she went to school with him.

PS I posted that clip of me splitting with a heavy axe and maul, not sure if it popped up for you or not. It’s not very instructional, so if anything peaks your interest feel free to ask me about it.

Also, I still have the cast iron vid and the selecting undesirable trees vid in the back of my head. Just been trying to find the right time to make them.

Congrats on the promotion ! Hard work pays off. I'd love to see a comparison video. I vote trifecta !! I hope your buddy at works catches the axe bug too.
