I inherited that molding set from my Father in Law. He purchased it in 1967. I have used it many times and enjoy using something he used also

Love the jig of partial ripping the ply and setting up the 38-degree angle. Nice fast way to do coves.

Jon, thank you for a trip down memory lane, many years ago I made a "puzzle table" for assembling puzzles with my kids; to keep the pieces on the table, and off the floor, ... the boarder was from a 2X4 cove moulding that I made.

I had seen this method of cutting cove molding way back in the day and had forgotten about it. Thanks for posting this Jon, it's gonna come in handy with some framing projects I've got in the works.

Jon,

Your channel is one of the first I subscribed to about 3 years ago. Every time you produce work like this, it encourages me more and more to get in my shop and create something awesome. I appreciate the work you do and look forward to learning more from you. God bless you brother.

Really nice use of old lumber! I just got one of those old Sears molding heads on Craigslist. I can't wait to try it. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hello mr. Peters, I am a picture framer and have been checking the internet for a master Craftsman like your self for quite some time, and I have finally found your Channel. I have subbed along with the Bell icon. I especially like your technique for making a rabbit without ripping into the Lumber itself, pretty fancy technique. I made my own miter fence for moldings wider than 4 in. I have a 40 year old Pistorius MN 100, which is a dinosaur. Looking forward to learning more of your techniques. Thank you, Sammy.

I'd like to see more projects using the moulding tool. And maybe some diy blades for it.

Jon,
Just something I wanted to share with you...
I made some cove molding some years back in the same manner as you did with my table saw like you did at the first of your video. (To put around the ceiling of a bathroom....)
Mine didn't come out as smooth as yours as it had saw marks in it. After cutting it to the same cross section of regular cove molding, I stained, varnished, mitered the corners and installed it. To make a long story short, the molding was an optical illusion!! If one looked at the saw marks for a short time, which were concave, they would appear to be convex! Didn't notice it til I was finished...My customer loved it btw...
