Food waste is a growing global concern. Food waste can decompose in landfills and enclosed compost piles and generate large amounts of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, which contributes heavily to climate change.
Here we discuss several existing strategies and their associated problems, as well as our own innovative solution to convert food waste into bio-ethanol.
