Wind finally let up, Tog' were chewin' | Rhode Island Tautog fishing

This was the first of many tautog outings to come this season. We had just had almost 2 full weeks of wind, wind, wind. Glad to get out on the grounds and pick up some tautog.
Fishing was done in 35 ft of water and although the fish were mainly small, we managed some keepers and also had a bunch of throwbacks, scup, bergal and sea bass.
Toggin' will only improve as the water cools. Hopefully October brings some calm weather.

Tautog fishing is just getting going now. One of my top fisheries!

This is my favorite time of the year. I got my limit 3 days this week. All 18 to 20 inch's up in the bay. I've been using a 1-to-2-ounce lead jig head with crab in 30 ft. Water temp was 65.
