The NatureHike Cloud Up 2 Pro Tent Is Wildly Different...

What I have here today is the 2024 newly updated CLOUD UP 2 person PRO tent from NatureHike and in this episode I will be sharing my thoughts and experiences concerning this shelter after getting this out on a handful of trips.

This is a complicated shelter mainly due to the design - in this review I will be zeroing in on points that you need to consider before purchasing this tent.

In some situations and conditions this tent is going to excel and in others, you’ll be in for a rough and uncomfortable night.

I love it because it's nice and warm inside while the ventilation still works nicely if you open up both vents. Just bought it and spent two nights in it. I'm 1, 74. It's perfect for me and my gear. Setting it up is stupidly easy and fast as well I think. I'll mainly use it for kayaking. At the water rains and storms are quite common.

But it totally isn't for two persons.

I see the drawbacks as an absolute win in bad weather. 🤔

A little bit of an unfair review. I don't think there is anything wrong with this tent, it may not be the tent that's right for you in your weather conditions but it is perfectly viable for others. Bringing the right tool for the right job is the user's responsibility. Not the companies.

Naturehike does offer a 2 person tent with a more spacious design and more mesh, the Naturehike Mongar. It has everything you asked for; more spacious interior, more mesh, two doors, and a rain fly that pulls away from the body on both sides. It's made with the same materials, just different design. This seems like a much better shelter for your conditions/use.

Sounds like a good one man tent for us here in the UK. I hate full mesh tents for the UK. There's nothing pleasant about being blasted in the face with cold air when you're trying to sleep.

That's how a review should be when you get it from a company. Honest. great review as always.

I’ve bought and reviewed this tent about a month ago and really liked it. Yes it’s not great for our hot summers here in Greece, but I have other tents for then. This is perfect for cooler Autumn/Spring days/nights. I can’t wait to take it out in winter (although not when it’s snowing). All the best Luke 😊👍🏼🙏🏼🏕️

Love your vids, maybe you can use the metric system as well? Would be kind!

Wow such an unfair review, these tents are excellent for the money. This is a bargain sub 2kg 1 man tent for the UK.

It's strange that the company didn't connect the body with the fly in this version, I have the 1 person version and it's a very useful addition.

Looks like a dedicated Fall tent to me, let in some cool air without freezing your giblets off and keeping you comfortable down low. Also a tent I would ABSOLUTELY take out in the UK, say on Dartmoor.

Interesting, I think I'll keep my old Cloud Up 2, great tent, been holding up well for 2 years.

I saw a guy somewhere over seas with the non pro version, woke up surrounded by inches of water and not a drop entered the tent. That combined with the option to get a rainfly with an extra length of skirt along the bottom, I bought the Cloud Up 2 for a cheap entry into fall/winter backpacking/camping. I just saw Eric Hanson do a review on the Featherstone Granite 2P and it looks like a perfect cheap option for summer camping-- side doors, all mesh, lots of head and shoulder room thanks to the cross-beam design, and it was $109 at the time of the video being made. Planning on acquiring that should I decide to operate in the summer.

I have the original Cloud Up 2 and here in the UK it really can be used all year round (obviously with the correct other gear for the conditions)
Definitely not a true 2 man tent though.

So as a tent to carry when you don't plan on camping overnight but want to have weather shelter/bug shelter just in case, you can "endorse" this one?

Hi Luke!! So I just want to bring up one point I don’t think you really consider. You always talk about tents needing less fabric and more mesh. I think it’s super important to consider the sizes of people in regards of how much mesh and fabric they may or may not need. For example I’m 130lbs and because of that I’m very cold natured. So someone like me would be happier with more fabric and less mesh.. You’re obviously bigger than I am so you would require more mesh and less fabric. I think it’s super important to remember that we’re all
Different shapes and sizes and while this tent may not work for you in may be just right for me or others my size. Thanks for the vids and look forward to more.

I'm glad I have the Mongar 2. Perhaps this one was designed with our friends in the UK in mind. I could imagine that they would appreciate this tent.

So it's ideal for stormy weather and completely waterproof but it's inner pitch first so it'll already be wet inside by the time you get it up, even without opening the door to get inside.
