He must not be a manager if he’s making $17 an hour, probably a supervisor

Something tells me he’s not actually a store manager if he’s making less than 25k. I worked at CFA right out of college and starting was 12/hr and eventually got a title of “manager” I wasn’t a manager they just make up roles all the time to get people to stay and seem as if they are progressing. Fast food working is a scam and the hell it is

I dated a girl who worked at mcdonalds. She got offered a manager position and she went for $9/hr to $10/hr

I was in the same boat at age 20. Felt like my time was worth more so I took my savings got a CDL class A drove trucks to pay for school. Still didn't make as much as I wanted after school so I went into sales saved up and bought a small business. Now I'm making 6 figures and work less than I did at fast food. It was a grind and sometimes I wanted to quit but now I'm so happy I kept pushing. You can do it just don't quit on yourself and remember if you want it bad enough anything is achievable.

I am not surprised, 3 years ago I was a manager at a fully operating restaurant and I was only making $15.50 working full-time I am so happy that I left that kind of work. It was not rewarding in any way

Most people don't know that Texas minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. They live in Austin which is top 5 most expensive cities in Texas to live in.

When I was looking into going to college for culinary management type crap it said prospective job example was managing a fast food place at $18 an hour, that was almost twenty years ago and I’m always thankful I wasn’t foolish enough to go into debt for that lol

He just not be working full time. 17 an hour at 34 hours, which is the minimum to be considered full time, would still be over 30k.

I make 18.50 a hour and I'm a cashier at a liquor store 🫣 not even a supervisor let alone a store manager.

Wait if he's making $17 an hour, that's $680 a week, and $35, 360 a year gross.

Dominoes in a small town in Missouri was advertising for a manager position. I asked what the pay was. She told me $17 an hour. FOR A MANAGER? I was shocked.

For everyone saying it’s not realistic, it is. I have 7yrs experience at a Chicken Express restaurant. They’re all franchises and independently owned. The owners of that franchise decide what they can pay you as it comes from their pocket. My “general manager” was hired same day as me to prep orders and made her way up to only $18/hr. She did scheduling, food ordering, hiring, and worked the store like she was a regular employee on top of coming in 3hrs early for free every day to get things ready in time to open.
I myself left there at only $13/hr as a “manager” for the night shift where I took inventory, counted tills, and made nightly deposits while making sure the other employees and myself cleaned the store for day shift to come in all while still working a normal shift. Wasn’t any stepping in to help, I was the person needing the help during rush periods because there was only enough to pay for one person at each station which is about 5 people total.

Chicken Express isn’t a “big” corporation that follows many norms because it’s literally your neighbor that owns the place and even THEY have to work to keep costs down.

Sounds like he found a way to get help and honestly her life and future should come first, especially if she is struggling and the dad has a job regardless of the pay

This is a reality for so many of us. It's greed.
