As a Fenerbahçe fan I still keep my Okocha shirt my dad bought me when I was 10 years old.

What a great talent and a wonderful humble person he was. We loved him so much!

Also you needed to mention his red boots. He made it a massive fashion trend in Turkey, every kid in the neighborhood would play football with red boots just because Okocha did :)

I was a basketballer until I saw Okocha at Frankfurt. From then on I became a football addict up until today. Thank you GOAT! 💚🤍💚

The astonishing thing was that fame never got to his head. He remained as humble as ever. He’s such a nice, humble and sincere person overall

Jay Jay lives round the corner from me, I've had a kick about with him a few times... and yes, he's still got it 👍

He was one of those very few players that made others around them better... players like Maradona, Ronaldinho and Zidane. He himself confessed that he just enjoyed football and didn't take it as seriously as others did. If only he took it half as serious as C. Ronaldo, everyone would still be calling him one of the GOATS, unfortunately, by the time he saw the seriousness of it, he was already approaching 30 plus. Still one of my favorite players of all time... if you didn't watch him play, you wouldn't understand.

Austin Jay Jay okocha . A sports analyst in my local radio station call him the uncrowned African king. It's an injustice he didn't win the CAF AFRICAN PLAYER AWARD throughout his career. But he remains one of Africa's greatest players.

As a Nigerian I nearly teared up watching this. He doesn’t get enough credit does he? I mean the man inspired tons of footballers like Ronaldinho, Deco, Robinho, Neymar, Mario Gomez and so many others. I remember watching a highlight of him destroying Keane, scholes and Beckham when he played against Man utd. He was a set piece specialist, a superb passer of the ball and deadly long range shots. What a legend he is

As a an old PSG supporter seeing a midfield with Arteta-Okocha-Ronaldinho was a joy to watch...Now we are spoiled with those Messi-Neymar-Mbappe.

I am Nigerian and I want to say thank you for this editorial on our iconic footballer. Football isn't just about numbers (of goals, assists, trophies e.t.c) . Football is firstly passion and emotion and many youngsters need to understand that.

He sounds like a simple man & quite humble. Always looked forward to watching him because there always a chance I would witness an epic moment. He didn’t just have dribbling, he was capable of some ridiculous passes & least we forget that long throw.

Jay Jay was my favorite skilled player before Ronaldinho, pure skills and class. Too bad he didn't win titles, but he won hearts.

This guy revolutionized football as we all know with his skils and tricks . TBH in the words of the narrator. He was so good that they had to name him twice 💯⚽️

Thank you so much for writing about this guy. Most YouTubers and writers seem to just ignore him or his achievements, especially when talking about some of the best football dribbles or dribbles of all time

I've not seen anybody do Okocha's signature leg over in a match, that's how legendary he is! 🔥

I think after watching this video, I realized that when a club buys Jay Jay, they get a big boost but not the trophy. He is the player that balances up a squad but the club needs to buy the other player to score the goals and make them win the trophies. He had a Ronaldo like impact on all clubs he went to with his transfers at the later stages of his career. If Bolton had better strikers, they would have won a trophy. PSG needed a better striker than Anelka.
