I can understand why Avalanche played it safe. It was their first AAA title and had been in development for 5 years. Adding Bioware-style choices and consequence, with branching quest lines and changing world states, would greatly increase the scope. But, now that the game is launched and is successful, I hope they'll introduce choices with real consequences in the inevitable sequel. Perhaps they can start the new game, where you're now a 6th year, based off a saved import and game state, based on the only two choices of any (potential) consequence: Sebastian and Ancient Magic.

Something that really annoyed me was the "Going to Azkaban to help prove someone innocent of a crime they didn't commit" plotline to do with Jackdaw if you're a Hufflepuff. I was genuinely interested in finding out what happens, but the game just drops it almost entirely. We never find out the falsely accused lady's fate, and when the person who takes us to Azkaban gets cursed and suddenly has to leave, we just get an owl post later basically saying "Oh, she got better."

Total letdown. It just decides "main story more important, forget other story thread"...

There's a nice-to-know choice when meeting random people in the floo-powder huts spread across the map. If you talk to them, they will ask you for a specific potion. If you choose to give them one of yours, they will pay you back by giving 3 different potions. So 3 for 1 deal, seems fair. :))

As for the Gobstones, I like to believe that she actually had her own already…but she tricked us into collecting someone else’s

What I would LOVE to see if there is a sequel:

- More awesome main story quests
- A quest to become a dark wizard
- Quidditch
- Expecto Patronum spell and dementors :)

Actually yes. There are 3 choices at the end of them game. 1. Is keeping the repository closed 2. Building off of isodaras work 3. MY POWER. And that 3rd choice you can only get by using evil choices like making people pay for the stuff or keeping there stuff in side quests.

I feel like almost every other side quest has an option like "i think i deserve a reward, don't you" or something that means they should pay me or something.
I was role playing as a evil homie (slytherin) but still only chose the money option with that girl and the diary. i was curious about if all the other options gave money like she did.

(this game isn't as "free" as i thought it would be, almost no matter what it seems like your mc is a good guy (from the point in the game i'm up to at least).

No:

Accept Dueling Club invitation -> Gets allowed in.
Rejects Dueling Club invitation -> Forced into the club anyways.

Pretty much how 90% of the choices in the game go, the dialogue is even exactly the same for some of them.

When it comes to the gobstones quest it actually does change depending on if you keep them or return them. If you keep them she will play gobstones by herself and say "I'm still rebuilding my gobstone collection thanks to you" but if you return them to her she goes to the same spot and shortly after her friend shows up and sits down to play with her

Headmaster black didn’t seem to make a difference in our gameplay as much as they said he would . Interesting if there’s an Azkaban dlc how it would play out for our character if we chose to learn the dark curses or not and if we’d get sent there.

Definite agree on wanting more impact with choices, the biggest shame for me was definitely the Sebastian questline like you mentioned, It left me wanting a lot more after all of that, because the questline its self was quite interesting, but then knowing it doesn't matter what you say in the end takes you out of it, but I will say I still really enjoyed a lot of the side quests in general, they felt all connected to what was going on in the world, and I felt like they gave you extra flavor to the big baddies and general lore. Having these random people be talking about Rookwood etc felt really nice, compared to other games where side quests might not venture into the overarching plot and feel very separate and more of a filler. They're still not perfect, but I found them much more refreshing to do than a lot of other games.

with the gobstones chick, i found a letter in the faculty area while on my first demiguise quest that talks about the girl who lost her gobstones and "i lent her yours and told her to play outside your window, i knew you wouldnt mind" or somthing like that. so theres a reason she has gobstones regardless of if you give hers back or not

3:55 But she will say something like “Thanks to you I have to recollect my Gobstone collection” along those line. So not necessarily breaking immersion.

I was going through editing Hogwart Legacy save file and there are Karma system and house points are in the pipeline in early part of development, but had been cut due to time constraints.
