I've yet to add the 50 Pesos to my stack but it's most definitely on my wish list ✌️
My personal opinion I think I like the mat finish one the best 👌

The matte finish coins are designated as " green lable - new die restrikes" by PCGS and are the latest of the gold peso coins produced. Many of the highest graded matte restrikes are MS 69 and 70 pieces in the PCGS slabs. The late "new die" production dies received a glass bead-blasted finish which produced the distinctive matte finish, and a stronger force or multiple striking (such as done on proof striking) would have produced coins with wider appearing outer rims and greater detail in the design due to the added die pressure within the striking collar.

Hi Bigstack, that matte coin must have been struck more than once as it also has the best detail on the high points, such as where the snake crosses the eagle's breast. Virtually all the older gold and silver coins have a weakness there.
BTW, I have added a third 5oz coin, a 2010 $500 Olympic coin, which is so scarce, it wasn't even added to our catalogue. We'll get that fixed in the next edition. You may have seen that I have also added a 1926 and 1945 50 peso to the stack. They are magnificent coins but nothing as special as that matte 47 specimen. Still missing a 10 peso restrike.

High Mr Stack, I just happened to buy a 50 centenario like ur matte finish restrike it is from Apmex . I was a bit panicked as Ive owned a few others, they were not a matte finish ! Glad I found ur vid on the differences ... Now I feel lucky to have the matte finish ! Such detail on this coin it was on sale for 2372.00 @Apmex, just received it today ATM mkt is down gold is @ 1800 per OZ ...Had 4 of them, I traded gold for silver, when gold was 2080 n Silver was 30 per oz I traded 32 oz for the = in silver, had bought the gold at a time when it was round 1100 per oz, so I thought I couldn't lose as both were on their respective way up 😆 I love stacking 🤑

Wow it must feel so nice to have four of those in hand. I absolutely love Mexican silver and gold. Matter of fact I just posted a vid last week of my Mexican silver and gold

What a coin. It's a stunning piece. I moved mine on earlier this year as it was a bit of an outlier to the stack but would probably pick up another if there was a particular bargain.

Beautiful hefty coins. I own myself. About to order my 3 Rd in a few weeks. Those and the eagles are my favorite 💯

I am in heaven watching this video. My dream coins are 50 Peso coins. Have a few proof and BU 1/2 ounce Libertad’s. Saving for a 50 Peso. Love all the Mexican coinage and trying to get a few of all of them. Stay blessed amigo. Thank you for the eye candy video!

I love this coin and buy one every couple months. I now have 13. They are all 1947 re-strikes, except APMEX had a discount on a 1944 so I jumped on it. They are just so cool, and my favorite bullion stacking coin, well that and the American gold Buffalo. I have seen the matte finish for sale but was unaware these were minted in the 1990's. I don't have one of those but will look for one for #14. I also didn't know they made proofs. Your coin looks proof-like to me. Thanks for educating me more on the 50 peso. I have never sold one, do you know if coin shop buyers pay over spot for them? They certainly do with gold Buffaloes. I forgot to mention, check out the Gold Peru 100 Soles. This coin even has more grams of gold than the Mexican 50 Peso.

6:09 the difference is that the condition of the actual 1947 coins is that they had a lot more wear and tear and patina also the rim is a bit smaller and the letters are different

I own a coin of 50 Mexican pesos for the year 1947, but it is not gold, and I do not know if it is copper, silver or anything else.
