Game Script App for Xbox One & Series Removed?

A quick update video regarding the recently announced kernel vulnerability related to SystemOS on the Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles. This requires an application called Game Script, but as of recently it seems the app was not only removed but is also being revoked from any consoles that are only with it installed! We discuss it a bit here, as well as go into a couple of games potentially needed for something related to GameOS, and a final tip for staying offline on a prepared console.

I'm the author of Game Script. Dude. Dude, wtf 😄I wrote the app 2 years ago so people could script entire games on Xbox, not to hack the console! I used the official Microsoft's UWP APIs, the premise was that UWP was more secure than Win32, I guess that was not true...

I cannot believe my luck and I'm not pushing it again. For the second time after they killed Game Script, I've signed on to get a game this time Warhammer, and activated it, and accidentally opened Game Script while online. Game Script still works on my console on and offline. Okay really now offline forever.

Luckily I got everything set up and offline before this. Sadly didn't get vermintide 2 installed. Hopefully a disc based game that doesn't require a download gets added to the list of exploitable games so that whatever that entails is available to me and everyone else.

Cheers for the update, re the game mentioned, here in the UK CEX had 10 copies as of 13/06/24, this morning some 7 hours later = zero copies, they were only £8 a copy. Look on line and prices are going really going up. :(

The ONLY reason the Xbox has been 'secure' as it has been is because M$ pays the most in exploit bounties.. and very often. The hyperviser does require alot to defeat though. But it can be done... It would take a virtuous individual with the inclination to do so and share it freely.

I did make a backup of the msix of game script so i could just reupload it for a small period of time

I'm wondering how many people actually got their consoles into a jailbreakable state before Microsoft de-listed Game Script. I personally have 3 consoles ready to go and activated all 161 games on my Series X before taking it offline. It took literally 21 hours since I have all my games downloaded but on an external HDD, so if it was a Series specific game, I had to transfer it to main storage, run the game, then transfer it back to the external drive. Still happy I stayed up an entire night doing it.

also for copy pasting the proof of concept code i didnt have notepad and my adv file explorer wasnt opening so i went online opened edge and went online with the loopback dns and opened my filebrowser web based file server and opened the txt file and copy pasted it that way

My xbox is in dev mode (booted into retail mode) with GS, Notepad T installed, the Network is offline with no connection. I hope something good comes out of this, if not i'll uninstall the app and go online again but that is if this hack becomes nothing which is doubtful
