Fun fact: when Tolkien first saw a tape recorder, the first thing he did was recite the Our Father prayer in Gothic as a recording, in order to "cast out any devil that might dwell in that thing".

20 years ago I started my quest on the internet concerning revivalism of the Gothic language. At that moment it was quite difficult to find people around the globe with the same fascination and with advanced vocabulary, grammar and who were capabele to really speak that 'dead language'. At that moment it was exceptional to find a spoken version of the Atta Unsar-prayer. Now, in 2020, it seems we can find quite easily different versions of this prayer in Gothic on YouTube videos. Your version is very special, also due tot your very deep voice. Just amazing!

I put this on after I say the Lord's Prayer in English. Also, I sometimes put it in Latin or "old" German.

My mother's ancestors! Her parents were both Spanish, from Andalusia. Recently I took her DNA test with MyHeritage and I uploaded her raw data on MyTrueAncestry.com. I was surprised to discover that her closest ancient population are the Wisigoths! She even shares chromosomes with Wisigoths' ancestors and their descendants in Medieval Spain. So now I'm thinking about learning their language! I went to order online an old Wisigothic language manual published in France in 1942 (as I'm French myself). I hope I'll receive it soon.

On the other hand, my father is a Spanish Gypsy. I still didn't have the opportunity to test him but, according to my own results, he seems to be very mixed. Nevertheless his roots are mostly South Asian. So I'm also thinking about learning Sanskrit. However the writting of this language scares me a bit.
