Apologies if this video is a little choppy. I had some camera issues so I had to splice multiple takes together

You should consider checking out The White Mountains and the rest of The Tripod Saga by John Christopher.
It is about the Tripods actually taking complete control of the world and what the world is like afterwards.

Your thumbnail was great. I wonder if you would like the 2003 book Remnant Population by Elizabeth Moon (sci-fi).

My favourite story of all time. First time I heard this story was Tom Cruises 2005 film. Then my dad showed me the Jeff Wayne's musical. Sparked so much fear yet wonder in me and ended up being the first book I read as an adult at the age of 18. I would eventually read his other big three straight after and I also fell in love with The Island Of Dr. Moreau

To my knowledge they've never done a correct movie version of this book 😭 I love how it involves human nature and how humans can be selfish when survival comes to the front, instead of helping each other. The Time Machine is my favorite book.
1950s movie edition of War of the World is best there is to me. 1960 The Time Machine is the best for me 😊

Yah! I read War of the World's three times and The Time Machine three times too! They're some of my favorite science fiction books :).

You really do fall into that role of fitting into the character as an investigative journalist type person throughout the book. A lot of 1800s/early sci Fi used narrators of some great academic or intellectual capacity, I suppose to draw out details and push the narrative forward, IE The Time Machine, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Frankenstein, etc.
