MY SCI-FI NOVELS

DELPHINE DESCENDS
After her family is killed and her homeworld occupied, young Kathreen Martin is sent to the distant world of Furoris for re-education. She will live the rest of her life as a serf – to be bought and sold as a commodity of the Imperial Network.

When her only chance of escape is ruined, a chance mistaken identity offers her a new life as the orphaned daughter of a First-Citizen Senator and heiress to a vast fortune.

She vows to claw her way into power to sit among the worlds’ elite. Then, with her own hands, she will reap bloody vengeance on them all.

But to beat them, she must play their game. And she must play it better than them all.

BLACK MILK
Prometheus has the chance to bring his wife back from the dead, but doing so will mean the destruction of Earth.

Spanning time, planets and dimensions, Black Milk draws to a climactic point in a post-apocalyptic future, where humanity, stranded with no planet to call home, fights to survive against a post-human digital entity that pursues them through the depths of space.

Five lives separated by aeons are inextricably linked by Prometheus’s actions:

Ystil.3 is an AI unit sent back in time from the distant future to investigate Prometheus’s discovery...

The mysterious Lydia has devoted her life to finding a planet that the last remaining humans can call home…

Tom Jones (he’s a HUGE fan!) is an AI trapped inside a digital subspace, lost and desperate to find his way back to his beloved in real-time…
Dr Norma Stanwyck is a neuroscientist from 24th Century Earth whose personal choices ripple throughout time...

Prometheus must learn the necessity of death or the entire universe will be swallowed by his grief.

Scariest book I've ever read. The Martians being grounded tripods just makes the whole story more terrifying. Big metal legs coming down near you is so much more up close and personal than a flying saucer hovering by.

Years ago, I thought that there should be modern reviews of older books. I never went anywhere with that idea, but this video reminded me why I had that idea. Thank you for doing this. I would love to see you do more reviews of older books.

The way HG wells made the Martians intelligent and curious makes them even more scarier.

The book does a complete 180 after the first people get zapped by the heat ray. Everyone looks at the newly landed Martian with curiosity until it retains the strength to use its technology again. Soon after that all hell breaks loose! Good book!

Def one of my favorite books from that time period and a good reminder to cycle it back in for a re read. Its been at least ten years.

Certainly one of the best book reviews I've ever watched! Great structure and the essence of the book really comes to light! Very interesting, thanks!:)))

Heyyyy loved this since seeing the 1950's (?) film and soon read the book and can still remember how scary the descriptive passage of the alien tentacle exploring the basement rooms was. Must revisit it. Love the way you incorporate the images then how it swirls back to yourself!!

As an adaptation, I think the best would be a period-piece, true to the book.

It's been years since I read this. I'll need to reread it one day. It's great sci-fi even for today's standards.

Currently reading the novel, and so far I enjoy it. The intro is ominous, ready for a thrill ride. 😎

ejaculation *still* means a short, vocal outburst. shock, horror - some words have multiple meanings.

This is a great review! And yes, as a modern reader the 'ejaculating' extract made the situation kind of hard to take seriously. But damn, the book is amazing.

hey, I'm studying this book right now and I was wondering, you made a reference to cannibalism in 4:17/9:34 of the video
Could you possibly tell me where abouts this is in the book, or rather the quote that confirms this?? By the way I find this video really helpful and super interesting-thankyou

I’m almost done with this book and can’t wait till I finish. To me it’s an ok book. I could have gone through life without reading it. I think I’m just not into Wells. I’ve read other books by him and it’s a 🤷🏻‍♀️ for me.

I saw the adaptation on tv and i realy didn't believe my dad when he told me people had thought the world was invaded by aliens i was probably 6 at the time. Was a good show but i did find it a bit to much at the time for some parts.
