It’s seems to be an another Weber’s law implication : it gets exponentially harder for a mind to calculate the execution, the straighter a shot is

Another way to find the center of the cue ball is the put yor tip at the bottom of the cue ball where it meets the cloth then move the cue straight up to where you want to hit.
I enjoy watching your video here from Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada.
Thanks

I had a different approach. The brain is really good at arbitrary precision so I'd do 2 things. I'd aim for a very specific part of the pocket not the pocket itself (way too big a target). Secondly I'd find a point a foot or 2 (or more) past the object ball to aim at. You tend to be able to hit a target by about the same amount regardless of distance so you can 1/2 or 1/4 your error at the object ball.

The other thing I used to do is simply shoot rack after rack of 8 ball on a snooker table. Switching back to an 8 ball table for 8 ball or snooker balls for a game of snooker makes the pockets feel huge.

A little correction:
In some situations, missing to the same side indicates a slight problem of "preferred eye" syndrom.

What it means is that if you always miss your object ball to the left, it means the cue stick should be a slightly on the right of your chin. Maybe a milimiter. (Right eye preferred by the brain)

And same as for opposite. If you miss always to the right, the stick should be a bit on the left of the chin. Closer to the left eye.

Obviously.. Sometimes its neither, and the missing occurs cause of our stance alignment.

For example, people that tend to place the closest foot to the table too far from the other foot.. Will realize al they had to do is shortening their distance between their feet, and stand more "squared" in their stance.
A lot of snooker players adopted that, since it causes not only the chin to be on the stock perfectly, but also the eyes should be perfectly vertically to the stick.
Thats the only way to *actually* test your "straightness*.
That and the fact you hit the center of the ball of course.

Great video, I where glasses and it seems I need a new prescription and this has made seeing the shot almost impossible...I am right eye dominate so all my shots seem to go right. Cheer's from Red Wing, MN U.S.A.

The main fundamental here is stance. If you watch the older tape the majority of the pros around the time they brought in the new lighter ball palls, pros like Spencer, mans and Reardon did have the lead leg all the way out to the side. Both feet were kept at shoulder width with the lead leg out a foot and the half which would keep your cue arm naturally aligned with your head.
