Cool! Alan Turing decoded Enigma and was instrumental in destroying Nazi U-boats. Turing was arrested for homosexuality – which was then illegal in Britain – and was found guilty of 'gross indecency'. On 19 July 2023, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace suggested Turing should be honoured with a permanent statue on the fourth plinth of Trafalgar Square, describing Dr Turing as "probably the greatest war hero of the Second World War".
