In 1967, CBS News aired a documentary called "CBS Reports: The Homesexuals." In light of the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage, CBS News' Steve Hartman took a look at that film to see just how much attitudes to gays have changed.

Love isn't a governmental thing last time I checked.

Born in 1967 I have always felt love and support from my close family. Being Gay is Not something I would have choosen. It was not easy being teased and called names growing up. But No amount of bullying would have made me straight.
I think its actually harder for homophobic people to grow and change than it is for GLBT people to accept and love ourselves.

Born in a Hindu Family in Calcutta West Bengal being engaged to my Australian partner I really really want to thank the yester generations in the western world who fought for our equality and also my family who accepted me and my partner for who we are and acknowledged us.

If being in love with the same sex makes you uncomfortable then you don't understand what real love is.

As a gay person myself, we just want to be accepted and treated like everyone else.

Ugh 🙄being gay was always in me. When i was elementary i knew nothing about what sex was or sexual desires n stuff i just knew that I really liked boys, the idea grew more once i learned what relationships were and i knew i just wanted to be with a guy a girl was never in the picture for me and it wasn’t a lifestyle choice, the only choice i made was accepting it and being me lol

Can't imagine 50 years from now we will look at all the hateful and stupid ways Transgender people have been discriminated.

I tell my husband to call me “the homosexual” when we lay down in bed at night.

I am happy to be gay and if it were a choice, I’d certainly not choose to be straight.

Adjust to the changes, I am a gay man, and I will continue fighting for rights of everyother United States citizen. I do not see myself as "abnormal" or an "abomination" I will say what every other says, I was born this way. I didn't choose to be discriminated upon and you didn't look at a woman or a man and say "Hey, I wanna be attracted to that" you were born that way. I will also say most of you have very very strong beliefs in "God" and have EXTREMELY closed minds to the situation and you are very stubborn. Open your mind, think, did you decide one day in your underdeveloped mind, "I want to be attracted to men/women"

🇺🇲 I teared up at the end, it's all anyone ever really wants, to love and be loved, to have a place you belong, a place you can call home

Honestly, I’m fine with people being homophobic, but as long as they don’t attack or make someone feel worse than I think it’s okay. (edit, ive changed lol im gay sorry if i caused any hate)
