The fact that gays and lesbians were denied the ability to donate blood to people injured in the attack on Pulse was a tragedy that added insult to injury. I am so grateful that Jared Polis sees that denying gays and lesbians the ability to contribute to society hurts all of society. End the blood ban!

I don't agree with the "lifestyle choices" of "gay" people, but who am I to say what's right or wrong? I will not discriminate against anyone who has made that choice. I have been discriminated against because of my "ethnic" background & it's not right. I have "gay" people in my family & I love them, regardless of their choices. I don't care. Whatever makes them happy is okay with me, just don't discriminate against anyone. We are all human beings. This ban is pure discrimination. Is a "gay" person's blood green like Mr. Spock's? Is a "gay" person's blood clear like the air we all breathe? Is a "gay" person's blood muddy like the Mississippi River? Is a "gay" person's blood blue like the skies above us? Will a "gay" person's blood make someone "gay" as it was once believed? Any "gay" person's blood will work in ANY human being. All blood is thoroughly tested before it is ever used. I don't give a crap if it's the blood from a "gay" person or not. If I need it to survive & it has passed all tests, give it to me. Also, "gay" people are still God's children, so don't discriminate against them because of their life choices. The quotation marks are there as my protest against the labels our society puts on people & individuals just because of their ethnicity, lifestyles; etc. I don't like putting labels on people. It's not right. Besides, we're all human beings, regardless of our individual choices. Labels on people & discrimination aren't fair to anyone. It doesn't make sense.
