87’ USCG Cutter. Best in the fleet! Gotta appreciate how versatile these patrol cutters and crews are!

Here in the UK we have the RNLI and like your coastguard they have saved thousands of soul's from the sea. These men and women do this voluntarily without reward of a monetary nature. God bless them all no matter what country you are in. 👍🇬🇧

How stupid, folded antenna, props to the CG and FD and PD and Tow Boats US for such a swift great response, great job by all, i had an incident on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland many years ago....nothing better than to see that big white vessel with the red stripe on the bow approaching at full steam. I mean nothing better, complete relief that you are going to be okay. Thank God for the Coast Guard.

What a great effort by the marine patrol and the coast guard cutters and plane. Outstanding effort folks.

Respect to the Coast Guard. I was rescued by them A few years ago when the boat I was on had the motor fail at night 20 miles offshore. Didn’t have any communication but we left info with people on shore I told him to call the Coast Guard if we didn’t get them by certain time.. About midnight sure enough helicopter shows up. A few hours later the Coast Guard boat showed up and they towed us in for free! Must’ve sucked for those sailors who got woke up in the middle the night and had to hop on a boat. We got in at 5 AM after towing all night. They were pretty cool and we were lucky no charge at all or any form of documentation at all. They just said have a good night.

I always wore my military inflatable PFD when we went out on my Dad's boat. My sister and brother teased me, my response was if your child goes overboard you don't have time to put one on you go get the kid immediately. The kids wore a PFD when on deck anytime. You never know.

I always have a 2nd bilge pump installed on my boat and carry an extra battery operated pump. I am told I’m too cautious. A bit of prevention goes a long way, and pumps are not expensive. Happy boating!

KUDOS to everyone who helped in any way. And special admiration for the stout little red tug that pulled her in. I have a fascination for Tugs, and that little red guy did a fine job.

I'm amazed how many law enforcement agency's had a boat, then how many responded, then how many responded with just one person, this video just got crazier and crazier! Busy day!

On big water, I would always have a PLB like many private pilots also have. A last resort, but you set that off and it sends your exact GPS coordinates to NOAA and sets of the klaxons. Our son does remote mountain "hiking" to 10-12K feet and some kayaking on the Great Lakes (Superior and Michigan). We bought him one for peace of mind. That PLB can be the difference between life and death. Really good ones are only $250.00, waterproof, float, brainer!

Respect the water! My grandfather was WWII Navy, my aunt was Navy nurse Vietnam, and my uncle was US Coast Guard in the Great Lakes, they told me the importance of respecting the water and advisories and take nothing for granted.

God Bless all the people that responded in their time of need, in those conditions. They would have died but for the bravery we saw of so many.

Thanks for this video. I hope this was a wake up and a BIG lesson to all boaters/captains! We can never get complacent. Always have a safety check list and ALL safety equipment.

A number of years ago I was fueling up at a local marina when a bunch of guys pull up in a 26 foot Proline with a 55 gallon drum in the cockpit. Right before we leave, one of them yells over to us asking how to get to the ocean. I already had an uneasy feeling seeing that fuel drum, and when they asked how to get to the ocean I wrote down the name of the boat. It was early morning and we were on our way out to the canyon. Just as we passed the 20 fathom line, I heard the CG trying to contact a vessel in distress. Sure enough, it was the same guys I saw earlier at the fuel dock. The story I heard was that "Hacksaw" went down and these guys had no GPS and no way to relay their position. It was only through the help of a party boat out there fishing that they were rescued.

NewZealand. We see this happening more & more down under. Idiots that go boating with zero experience and put everyone in danger. Frustrating as hell. Thank you HAULOVER BOATS for your great content.

Last year I had the unfortunate experience of hitting a submerged object. Ripped the outdrive clean off pulling the drive shaft from the engine leaving a nice hole in the center of the gimbal bearing. Sure am glad I had a second bilge pump that worked, because both of them running together is the only thing that kept the boat floating.

I wouldn't put people into the water until boat was definitely about to sink, even in warm waters like florida hypothermia and exposure are still an issue.

I'm amazed at how many law enforcement boats go out with a crew of one.
