As you all watch I hope you get to understand what people are born into instead of judge and laugh. This is all people know sometimes. I’m blessed that I survived the streets of Detroit but moved back and invested in Detroit. The hood made me stronger and it made me thrive in the corporate world. I’m grateful that I came from the streets. 🙏🏾

The young man who wants to be a lawyer seems really smart. I hope he makes it.

Good kids just born poor. I live in Mississippi and it is just like that around here and I love it. All the people are friendly around here and it is 82% black 12% white and the others mostly from Mexico and Central America. I’m white, born here and it’s great. I feel safer here than when I lived in Chicago and New Jersey.

The local youth interviews make this channel that much more special. I hope brother Jones continues to persevere until he graduates law school. It's shocking to see Clarksdale. As he drives around you don't see any economic opportunities at all. Where are those kids going to work? Overall, great episode Charlie. Peace.

These are some smart young men, I pray they stay in school and don't wind up selling drugs and in prison.

You should interview more people regularly

I love how people just slowly walk in the middle of the damn road with babies while they see a car coming towards them

Those young men deserve a fair shake.
A mentoring program would go a long way.
All donated time by the elders.
They were looking to you.
Bless you Charlie.
They will always remember that you stopped to listen to them.

Thanks for doing this video Charlie. I'm White and live in Chicago and had a buddy back in the day who's Black who's whole family came from Clarksdale.  Matter of fact, a large contingent of African Americans in the Chi migrated from the Delta Region.

Unless they get good educations, these kids will have difficulty finding good paying jobs. We exported too many to China, Japan, and Mexico.
Both parties have failed in reversing this.

So happy the dude said he wanted to be a lawyer and not a rapper. Hell, he could’ve said sales rep. The point is, he has ambitions.

Really enjoyed this video, loved the interviews. Glad you talked to the youth, and that they displayed an image of positivity despite the living conditions in which they in-habit.

The 17 year old kid that Charlie interviewed was one of the most respectful locals I have ever seen on his channel. Getting the insight from people who actually live in these places makes these videos so much worth while.

Just a perspective, but I've seen the deterioration of Detroit 1st hand growing up there....but ppl have a misconception perpetuated in the media, that minorities in the ghetto innately gravitate towards mischief; which can't be further from the truth. Most kids in the hood like we see here have hopes & dreams....they just need opportunity & a chance, instead of starting life @ a disadvantage. I notice in the comments that ppl want to judge & throw dirt on the less fortunate, not realizing what they have is a gift not bestowed by their own merits. In all actuality, those that look down on ppl are the real pieces of chyte.
