As it turns out there was a real world basis for this iconic scene. No wonder there was moving chemistry between them. Despite it being a casual thing for Ford, for Carrie it was all too real. If you look back and see their photos and scenes, Carrie's timid and insecure attraction to Ford is reflected in her actions and facial expressions. You'll see it in her eyes. Even if you check the last times she and Ford were on the Force Awakens panel, or every interview where she mentions Ford it is clear she never totally got over her romantic obsession with her cinematic husband. Whenever Ford is in her presence she begins acting self conscious. Ford is nervous as well. Good thing she wrote her book. For years I found it impossible that such a lovable on screen couple wouldn't have had a thing in the real world, however fleeting and shallow, , , , well atleast for Ford. I admire Carrie for staying true to herself till her last days. Harrison was just being true as well.

The original three Star Wars films really are a once in a lifetime example of magic caught in a bottle. With all of the Star Wars material that’s come after and no matter how much will come in the future, it will never feel exactly like this. I don’t even know how exactly to explain it. I think the Sequels came the closest to catching this essence out of anything, but the Originals are truly one of a kind. All of the stars aligned perfectly for these movies to happen.
