The Calvinism of Charles Spurgeon | Why Do Non-Calvinists LIke Him? | Kerrigan Skelly

This video is a part of the, "From The Horse's Mouth" video series, which gives quotes from different Calvinistic theologians, authors, etc. so you can see what they believed, for yourself, in their own words.

This way, Calvinists can't accuse me of misrepresenting their position(s). Charles Spurgeon was a Calvinist through and through. Why any non-Calvinist would promote him or quote him (in a good light) is baffling to me.

So glad this is going again brother! At 11:00-12:00 you hit it right on the head. You can take a man and give him a bible and NOTHING ELSE and it is a guarantee Calvinism will not be his doctrine.

Following Paul Washer led me straight into Calvinism. I was caught in this web for several years. It almost cost me my faith, but Praise God, He brought me out. I’m still seeking freedom from many of the doctrines. Thank you for making the videos!

+Refuting Calvinism
Hey Kerrigan, I had to comment because you said something that I am always ranting about. You stated that calvinists could not possibly get calvinism from ONLY reading and relying on the bible. They typically always have some outside source where they're getting their knowledge or "revelation", such as books from calvinists or calvinist pastors or people in general who shift their eyes to read the bible from a calvinistic perspective, therefore, they begin to believe the Calvin lie. I always say nobody can actually truly believe calvinism without some already biased opinion, and following of men instead of the Holy spirit, and just letting scripture speak for and translate itself. It is a very slippery road, and it can easily be avoided if they built their foundation on the rock, and strictly on the bible, while blocking out opinions of men. God bless!!

Hi brother! I have been watching your videos here and there as my time allows it.
I am glad there's someone like you making videos against this satanic doctrine.
I was recently a member of a church, where the pastor slowly geared the church towards the calvinism doctrine. Till he became a full-blown calvinist. He even changed the name of the church, from 'First Baptist Church' to 'Reformed baptist church'. And had the members signed a new membership. This is when my wife and resigned.
This has hurt us tremendously, because now we have family members and friends involved in this cult.
Please pray with us that they also can have their eyes opened!
God bless!

Thank you. I nearly got caught in Calvinism. I had been listening to a lot of sermons from many of the well known preachers and even started learning the confessions. I don't know what happened, possibly came across a video explaining Calvinism which alerted me to this doctrine and then I started checking on the people I had been listening to. And yes, most of them were Calvinists. I'm amazed at the large number of people who have been deceived by this. When I asked a Christian I know what people could I listen to who aren't Calvinists I discovered that he is a Calvinist and was "converted" to it by a friend of his, but he did say that he is NOT a 5 pointer.

I think Spurgeon had quite a heart for evangelism, but was bound to his Calvinistic beliefs

THANK YOU for challenging Spurgeon! It's hard finding any criticisms on him. I think he had a good heart, but is theology was severely misguided.

I'm nearly done with the video so I haven't listened to all of it, but Spurgeon has one quote that I take severe issue with:

"Miracles were of admirable while they were necessary; but now that they are no longer required, the prudence of God forbids and extravagant display of the supernatural."

I likened it to Joseph Smith's audaciousness. His cessationism is borderline blasphemy.

Excellent video, I've seen the same promotion of Spurgeon among non-calvinists and it is perplexing

@27:51Spurgeon is literally denying John 3:18. "He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

The "STRAW MAN" logical fallacy is no doubt the calvanist's favorite tactic.

I agree with what you're saying about not accepting what any Calvinist has to say about the things of God, his God is not the God of the Bible in my view.

I use to like ol' charles but when i found out he was a calvinist. I stopped promoting him.

Disappointed in Spurgeon. Maybe this is why I never could get much out of him, despite what everyone seemed to be saying about him.

Hi, I do have a question for you, do you physically attend a local church outside of your own home in fellowship with others on Sundays (or Saturdays)?

Surgeon spoke very
highly of Charles Finney, so I don't think he was saying that brief in free will means you're unsaved. If he was then he clearly contradicted.
