Показать описание
Dr. Ebraheim’s educational animated video describes the injection technique for the subacromial bursa, shoulder bursitits.
The subacromial bursa separates the supraspinatus tendon from the acromion.
The bursa aids the motion of the supraspinatus tendon of the rotator cuff in overhead activities.
Subacromial bursitis is a condition caused by inflammation of the bursa and it is often treated with injection.
The injection site is about 2cm below the posterolateral corner of the acromion.
Technique:
- Landmarks are placed for injection of the bursa.
- Injection site is disinfected with betadine.
- The tip of the needle will be targeted towards the superior aspect of the acromion.
- Aspirate or inject accordingly.

I had my injection about 3 weeks ago. The pain before was constant night and day. After the injection, I feel about 30-40% better. At least I can get some sleep now. I still have limited movement but it is better. I will be getting a second injection in about 3 months. I am sick and tired of the pain and lack of movement but it is better after the injection. I hope it does not wear off too quickly as others have commented. My doctor did a great job. He said, "How was it?" I said, "How was what?" He said, "The injection". I said, "What injection?" He said, "The one I just gave you." I was nervous after watching videos but I must say, my doctor was a champ.

I've been having severe right shoulder pain.
After viewing these videos, and given the amount of discomfort I've been going through. I firmly believe I have a inflamed Bursa.
The mere thought if a needle being injected directly into the pain source gives me chills.
In no way could I imagine the pain of a needle hitting the source of discomfort.

Had one shot on the back of my shoulder and a month later had one in the front. I have to say be for the shots I could not raise my arm past my should height. Couldn't even throw a ball and we are big baseball fans. After the 1st shot felt lots of pressure and they were putting it they next day after some rest I could raise arm above head. After 2and shot felt almost pain free very little discomfort. A year later I can play baseball again. I get a pain now and then but nothing like before

After the injection, how long will take normally to heal? How long should I wait before going back to the gym again? Actually I can do most of my workouts without problem, except for 2 exercises that put a lot of pain on my shoulder, lateral raises, and incline barbell, other than that I can do all of the lifts, but the pian has been there for almost 9 months, sometimes even without lifting anything, just by putting my shirt, or when my kid lies his head on my shoulder the pain comes.
