I have lived alone for 12 years, after t he death of my husband for 50 years. I’ m happy being alone in my home….even I have 6 children, and 16 grandchildren… I’m so busy, praying, celebrating masses online, writing comments on homilies, reflections of priests…doing household chores, watching TV, listening to songs of praises, and once a year, I can travel, visiting my 3 children’s families in Canada, staying there, 3 months, or 6 months… etc. I’ m so happy being alone in my home…the best God’s gift to me, growing old graciously and gratefully….being alone….and my friends say, that I look younger now and relax….thank you Lord ….i love you Jesus. JESUS IS ALL I NEED…AMEN

Thank you so much for this. Finally, someone understands and unequivocally states why solitude can be such a beautiful thing. This video should be required viewing for those mental health professionals who state that a day not spent relating to other people has the same effect on our health as smoking five cigarettes. If that were the case, I would have died decades ago instead of living a mostly content and happy life. I live alone but still enjoy occasional social contact with family, friends, and acquaintances . It's the stress of chronic loneliness that shortens lives, not blissful solitude.

Yes. I may be alone but not lonely. With a lot of social media platforms life Facebook and YouTube I can choose to be a member and participate not a spectator. There are plenty of physical interactions through church organizations and neighborhood groups. It’s all up to me. ❤
