"It would be a shame if humanity disappeared because we didn't bother to look for the solution." - Geoffrey Hinton, winner of a Nobel Prize and the Turing Award. We're not looking, because it's not profitable, so it requires public awareness. Thanks so much for the likes, comments and subs which help the video spread.

Every government and tech company rushing to AGI Manhattan Project style... what could possibly go wrong?

All that nice stuff about living longer and benefiting health will NEVER be allowed by governments and corporate entities.

If watching movies has taught me anything, I've learnt that if killer AI machines come for me, I'll just give it my clothes, my boots and my motorcycle, and I will be ok. 😂

The pacifying drugs (i.e., remove anger) they talk about in this video are similar to the Soma drug that Aldous Huxley’s 1932 cautionary tale Brave New World warned about. We shouldn't take drugs like this to dull ourselves but rather we should be self-aware and at peace with the reality of our emotions, fears, etc. to truly be fully aware and discerning individuals.

Waiting impatiently for a solar flare to knock us back down to the 1800's, technologically.

We as a species can’t seem to learn from our history and wrap our heads around the fact that war is pointless. It’s a pity.

THIS was the only thing my grandfather was ever truly concerned about for the future of humanity. He passed away in 1994.

How about this for an idea: We DON'T kill each other? Just putting it out there.

Literally the only known inhabitable planet in universe and people are just like "I'm sorry, my ego must have caused me to forget"

11:20 When I was a kid our dog got hit by a car. He was paralyzed and couldn't move his back legs. We had him put down. One of these "doggy wheelchairs" which I even imagined back then would have saved his life. My parents convinced me he wouldn't be happy with wheels for legs. Judging from this, they were wrong,

Call me pessimistic, but I have come to the inescapable conclusion that this is already well beyond our control. I see no point in wasting energy fretting about it. I've stocked up on popcorn for the show. It's the best I can do.

Problem we have is that the people that are advancing this technology aren't really scientists, they're more like business executives. What's the tech slogan, "Move fast and break things."

These people don't have forethought. They just want to advance their technology and, " work out the kinks" or " ask for forgiveness " later. The problem is they don't see that that most likely won't be possible and they have the potential to take us all down with them.

Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

6:16 You gotta love the chinese sense of humor. They're all business when it comes to basic human emotions and generic things that make us happy, but they seem overly happy with the fact that they're essentially giving their AI the ability to build, with its own "hands", the tools necessary to end our breathing subscription forever.

Censorship and surveillance. It wont be long before scrubbing the internet, in close to real time, will essentially classify entire concepts, like rebellion for instance. In a couple generations people won't be able to imagine disobedience.

All would take is one dictator thinking they deserve more to ruin everything. One human. One.
