A government budget report has shown that China will register an annual defence spending growth of 7.2% this year -- in line with last year's rate. In his annual work report to the legislature, Premier Li Qiang called for all-around efforts to press ahead with China's military modernisation campaign. The goal is to do so by 2035. Under President Xi Jinping, China's defence budget has more than doubled since 2013. Low Minmin reports.

This report may be is the world's 2nd largest economy with a defense budget of lesser than 1.7% of its GDP...while World defense budget is 2.2% of GDP.... and Arnerica's defense budget is 3.5% of it's GDP.

defence budget as % GDP
U$A 3.5%
Singapore 2.8%
S.Korea 2.7%
China 1.6% --> 1.8%

China minimum security, need to learn from U$A, Singapore, S.Korea.

In recent years, the defense budget growth of the United States, Japan, India and other countries has remained above double digits, fully exposing the militaristic side of these countries regardless of their economy and people's livelihood. Among them, the investment in the military field by the United States and Japan in fiscal year 2024 has reached a record high. Japan’s defense budget in 2024 will increase by 16.5% year-on-year, maintaining continuous growth for 11 consecutive years. The U.S. defense expenditure for fiscal year 2024 reached US$886 billion, which has exceeded the combined military expenditure of the next nine countries and accounts for approximately 40% of the total global military expenditure.

U$A: A strong military can safeguard its interests
China: Learn from U$A
If U$A can safeguard its interests without consequences then any country with the capability can and will follow in the footsteps of the US.
Wealth(GDP) needs to be backed up with relative military. A rich family can employ relative amount of security guard to protect his wealth, but when his poor neighbor work very very hard to get rich but not allow to employ relative amount of security guard to protect his wealth?
😨8 wolf came to eat up China when it was rich. After WWII no wolf pack want to visit poor China. Now China is rich again, the wolf pack
Furthermore, the wolf pack is already at door step.

Well done China.China's military spending is $230 billion which accounted for 1.7% of the country total GDP. China should increase military spending to 2-2.5 % of GDP to keep up with world spending average of 2% of gdp.

(America’s Japan-bred Saboteur Inserted in PH Coast Guard?) January 27, 2024
Raymond Powell presented Project Myoushu to a conference in early January 2023 hosted by Stratbase Albert del Rosario Institute, a Manila-based business consultancy that has been promoting pro-US positions in the South China Seas in order to leverage their own vested interests at Reed Bank (Recto Reef).

For the entire 2023, Powell served as “lone ranger” because he was a foreigner promoting “Philippine sovereignty”, and Tarriela served as his “tonto” acting as echo mechanism.

Perhaps the clearest example of the project’s insidiousness came in early February 2023, when Powell posted “evidence” that a China Coast Guard ship had harassed a smaller Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel as it resupplied a Philippine-held outpost at Second Thomas Shoal. This was the first time during the term of President Marcos Jr that the PCG broke its preexisting protocol with the CCG and started carrying media men in its ships.

A lot of escalation in Ukraine since 3 months ago. By now China must be budgeting a 70% increase, not 7%.

It took a simple fisherman to educate our government and media about Scarborough Shoal.

While still nursing his emotions for losing catch for food, Joely Saligan lamented the loss of the territory by the Philippines and clarified, “Karapatan doon, sir, ay nasa mga Chinese na kasi sila na nagbabantay doon e.” (The sovereignty there belongs to the Chinese because they are in control of the area.) This portion of his statement is @2:16 to 2:20 of the GMA video “Bangka ng mga mangigisdang Pinoy, sinubukan umano palubugin ng China Coast Guard | 24 Oras”. Here is the capsule quip:
👉👉PCG commodore Tarriela cherry picks fishermen’s tales to paint yet another “harassment narrative” against his Chinese counterparts. Saligan, even while overwhelmed by emotions, manages to sober up the incident.
