Dr Peterson isn’t kidding about the impact of betrayal. It takes time and effort to process through the resulting bitterness, but it’s important to grow past the bitterness and change it instead into wisdom.

"Jung believed that you could bypass psychotherapy entirely by merely making a proper moral effort in your own life."

This. Right. Here.
This is what I have recently learned from Jordan.

It has changed my life and mental health. I still struggle, but I am resilient.
I show my wife about what I am learning. It helps her too. Her mental health is also improving.

This simple to understand advice is improving lives close and far.
Thanks, Jordan. What you do is appreciated.

Edit: Seems like this is what he meant when he said clean your room.

It’s an interesting walk back to yourself, the lost or abandoned self can be reclaimed. Allowing it to happen, giving myself permission was the turning point for me.

I read a lot and this is by far the best thing I've read for the beginning of August 2024. Thank you Dr. Peterson for your wise words in these current times of uncertain days.

I miss this Peterson. He seems more focused on the work and not the passion shown.

This reflects a lot of the things I've been thinking lately. I've been dealing with the CSA I had suffered, and the effects I have been dealing with I see reflected in so many other people. Everything has a reason, everything has a cause, and by that logic everything also has an effect. Delving into this as a society, I think would unearth untold mountains of truth. But I also think that many would do anything in their power to stop that truth from coming out.

Thats one of the beauties of finding the right partner, it brings you back to that child like state of fun innocence when your dating them / getting to know them. All be it, I find this is harder to do the older you get unfortunately, but thats what makes it all the more important for us.

When I was in 2nd grade, I heard the Lord tell me: "You're going to do something great one day!" I answered: I'm just a little kid; what do you expect from me?"

Never figured out what He meant, whether I've already done something over many decades, or still to come, or maybe it's nothing great in the eyes of men.

I'm guessing it's the latter.

He spreads the word in such a way that it can be understood by anybody who is willing to search for truth. Doesn’t matter if you are an “atheist” or “Christian”, “Jewish”… you just have to want to know and follow the truth

It's not possible to regain what you lost in childhood. You can only get in touch with the feeling and only momentarily. No amount of therapy can restore childhood innocence and pure joy permanently. 🙏

Lies and deceptions can pull down one’s integrity and character. The most important that I believe would be effective to develop the nature of a person is to know how you respond to what you are faced with since people are unpredictable and are not what you expect them to be. Just be yourself and try to act and react as though you were in front of God if you have nothing to hide. And I wonder how you would really respond then!

Soon after I met the woman who became my wife, she asked me if there was anything she could do that would make me stop loving her, I said no, but if you cheat on me our relationship will be irrevocably destroyed.
That's what is remarkable about Dr. Peterson is that he got me to think about Eden, faith, and betrayal in my own life, and deeply so in a 10-minute video. That's powerful.

❤ it seems that knowledge has always been the problem. Eve wanted to eat from that tree. We have repeated that ever since. We discover something and we create it then inevitably someone uses it to manipulate people and destroy. Everything we have created has been turned against us. That's why I would almost prefer to know nothing because ignorance is bliss

And sometimes the hardest thing to swallow is that the truth isn't as terrifying as your persecutory, retributive superego has portrayed it to you over the years...
