it's been exactly 100 years since Mustafa Kemal Atatürk founded Türkiye and I am sooo grateful for him and his comrades. I bet no country has this much love and respect for their founding fathers.

He is the best leader possible. When other authoritarian rulers seize power they all use it to become rich and steal from their nation. This man gave his nation pride, independence and most importantly liberty and education for citizens.

Atatürk was a visionary man, way ahead of his time. Many of his sayings are applicable even in today’s world. Looking at his biography, it is evident that he was an intelligent man at his core who constantly worked to improve himself so that he could fulfill his strong desire to lead the creation of a secular Turkish republic. I deeply respect him for his commitment to his people and to the ideals that we see today referred to as Kemalism. He was an outstanding commander, statesman and teacher. An impressive deed since it is extremely rare to find all these qualities in a single man. The Lausanne Treaty signed at Palais de Rumine (in my city Lausanne) is written proof of his and his people’s achievement. I see Atatürk not only as the human being he was, but also as a symbol of something bigger and universal; the idea of progressiveness. I certainly regard him as a role model and I have the utmost respect for Atatürk’s Turkey. I hope Turks continue to follow in his footsteps. Greetings from Switzerland! 🇨🇭

I am not even Turkish (I am Tunisian) but Ataturk was a legend. What he did for his nation is incredible. I envy you Turks (in a good way).

“Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives …

You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side in this country of ours.

You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears.

Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.”

As a Turkish i am proud of Atatürk. Look at this letter. Who would write something like this to an enemy

As an Iranian I have a lot of respect and admiration for Ataturk.
I wish we had someone like him in Iran's modern history.

Churchill himself said "Once in every century, a true genius emerges. Unfortunately for us, he's in Turkey." He was, of course, referring to Atatürk.
