All MK has to do is this:
1.) close half his stores and ALL of the outlets.
2.) invest in mid-level luxury / quality designs and eliminate the largely manufactured products.

3.) increase the price range, but not too high.

4.) Go back to the Michael Kors COLLECTION brand

I love the MICHAEL KORS aesthetic, and I believe that look, American sportswear, colorful, prints, feminine, mid 20th century inspired will never go out of style. if he fails, another brand will replace it, with a similar look. Compare this to the very often sexless, feminist American look of THE ROW. That I believe is a trend. But French and Italian fashion houses are also faltering, because they did the same thing - mass produce too much, diminishing their own luxury status ( which is partly psychological ), once the customer loses trust in the "luxury" status, its hard to get it back.

I used to love his designs and aesthetics. However, his brand has gone the way ‘Halston’ did in an earlier era. Sold out to the point of little chance for redemption.

Let's be honest, it started losing since 2012 or so, so dont blame covid

Kors should have acquired Donna Karan, focused on making it a Ralph Lauren/Hilfiger/Klein sized American behemoth all while Michael Kors personally only focusing on and perfecting his own jet set style. Instead, it looks like the shareholders and TJ Max are more important than image. At this point the damage is irreversible.

Mk = brand fatigue. Should have retired it and brought it back in smaller collections and it maybe would have done better

Remember, your designer bag will not pay your bills. Invest in something that will return value to you in the long run. Think of me as your older sister. Don't be a free walking billboard. They're trying to tell you/us that we need their garbage fashion for outrageous prices. We don't.

The quality was never there. I want a bag that lasts and MK bags just don't. My 20 year old Patrick Cox still looks great aa do the 5 Fossil bags I own. For me its about the quality of the materials and workmanship rather than a shiny logo on the front.

Michael Kors was famous for stealing other designers looks, and then over producing, and discounting to a point that made them no longer elite, and desirable!
