When I first watched the MV, I thought why would they say they're ugly when obviously they are very pretty and beautiful but through time and more listening, They were actually sending a message.

A lot of people don't understand this song... It's not a group of girls lamenting and complaining about being ugly. It's not something so pathetic as that. It's about how people have no confidence at times no matter whether they are really ugly or not. Beautiful people lose confidence at times and think they're ugly; talented people lose confidence at times and think they're not talented and so on. Sometimes we only see negative things and not positive ones. That's what the song is about.

not exactly a fan of 2NE1 but this song kinda impacted me. to me, the "ugly" here is not just restricted to one's appearance, it's the whole package, including character and behaviour etc. the lyrics are kinda emo but they're so undeniably honest and true.

To me in this song is saying how every girl feels less than the girl next to them because they'll only see what they don't have, and no one can say anything to make them feel different because that's a matter of learning to love yourself
