It's a crime that the rogue squadron trilogy hasn't gotten a remastered collection.

Entire game inspired by the first level of Shadows of the empire

One of the best Star Wars games ever made.

We need a show that pays homage to the love of space fighter pilots and Star Wars tech.

I was 12 years old when my parents got this for me for my birthday. When I say I played this game for a couple of YEARS afterwards, I am not exaggerating. I got pretty good at it and it was so satisfying to finally get those gold medals from practice and a little luck. They really don’t make games like this anymore and it’s a shame.

This was my favourite game in my early teens. Played the missions over and over again. I own both sequels but could never get into them the same way as the original.

Recently bought the game again on a Steam sale (still own my original copy as well). Great video! :)

Too bad you didnt review the PC version which is imho far better. Ive never experienced the camera bug you mentionned but it could be GOG specific. I played it on disc and in its big box, purchased back in 98'.

Knowing how you do reviews, im excited for you to review Rogue Squadron 2 & Rogue Leader on GC .

Protip if youre looking to record on the original Gamecube hardware : ihope you have a Dol-01 model with the Digital Av port. This will allow you to plug an HDMI GC Plug to hookup on an HDTV.
This will allow you to run games in crisp 480p resolution and its honestly mind-blowing. My Life in Gaming did a solid video on GC and HDMI, you should check it out.

Not played this but looks great for the time

I did enjoy rogue squadron 2 on GameCube

That also looks graphically brilliant too

I had this back in the day and enjoyed it a lot. The expansion pack helped a lot with the graphics. I think it was Raid on Solus that I never managed to complete.

I played through this dozens of times on the N64 as a kid. It's a really good game.

Can remember sinking mad times in Rogue Squadron. It just felt good to be a bomber or X-Wing. The sound was incredible too, not to mention the awesome narration guy at the summary screen for each mission. Wasn't much of a prequel guy ( Star Wars ) but after hearing about Battle for Naboo and that it used the same engine i had to play that as well being i liked Rogue Squadron. So you can imagine when Star Wars Squadrons was announced i initially had hopes, but not even that could come close to what that first game was.

That camera bug in PC version can be countered by switching to cockpit mode and back. Worked for me.

I think Battle for Naboo is a nice game as well.

Got this game along with Episode I Racer with my new N64 on my 6th birthday! Loved it and it desperately needs a remaster.

This game was my favorite Star Wars game during my childhood. Never played the sequels sadly

Yeah, loved this game as a kid! On PC. Crazy, seeing some of this footage still brings back some memories.:D Eventho it must be 20+ years since I last touched this game. I did get all gold medals back then so hey.:)

I only played the Gamecube Rogue Squadron games and even though it might be difficult bringing them over to modern platforms since they were published by Nintendo, It would be nice if this game was ported, with improved graphics meaning greater draw distance and detailed environments. Since we already have the Jedi Knight games, Battlefront Classic Collection as well as older titles, I can definitely see this being released. You should also review Star Wars Battle for Naboo as that game was pretty similar to Rogue Squadron.

I´m so back and forth between the PC and the N64 Version.

On the PC i got that Game successfully working with DxWnd and other Fixes, the Problem is, i never could get any Controller working, despite what some Reviews on Steam say.
On the other hand, i tried out the N64 Version on an Emulator. And what we got here?
Upscaling Resolution without a problem, Controller Support as good as it gets from the start. Of course the Framerate was worse then the PC Version, but it was noticeable better then how it was on an actual N64 Console. On specific Emulators you can even disable the Fog. The only problem i found so far is that the Widescreen Hack makes the sides a little "woobly", probably has to be something with the culling.

So at this point i don´t really know what to keep at this point.
