I was on the USS Cadmus AR14
In 1964-65 when we hit a storm in the North Atlantic returning to our home port in Boston. 80 knot headwinds and 100’ swells for 6 days and nights. The Chaplain offered last rights to all that wanted him to.
The damage to our ship was tremendous, 2 vehicles washed overboard, the 3rd was stick between the first island and the life line. Our radar which was 7 stories above our water line was ripped off of its mast, the anchors were lifted up by the wave in their haw’s pipes crushed our hull. The mess hall couldn’t provide food other than sandwiches.
It was the longest 6 days of my life.
Never underestimate the power of water!
Go Navy! No such thing as boredom!

For those of whom have never sailed into the Northern Atlantic ocean, the mere sight of massive waves can overtake your perception of your own heartbeat, your last breath, and your last memory of peace. Life is much like these moments, and sometimes Life puts our course into directions we had not anticipated going. As for this video, it’s so amazing that someone has the ability to create this allusion, but in reality, that vessel would not be stable, there would be lows and highs of the ocean and the ship’s movements would create great panic of whether it could hold under immense stress from stern to bow, with the center of its gravity being tested against nature’s gravitational forces !

So, either the comments are meant to be ironic, or nobody is paying close attention. Exactly, that's why AI is so dangerous, this is an AI video.

So obviously this is not real. . . . or the question would be, who exactly is filming this? Couldnt be a drone, winds would destroy. And video from another ship? Much to steady to be able to film from across the ocean like that. . .

I lost friends to monster waves a Barren straits, Australia. My salute to all seafarers around the world. Without you and ships that sail those mighty seas this world will never survive..

Ese vídeo es un montaje no es real a saber: 1ro. El mar está en calma 2do. El buque que embarque esa cantidad de agua por la banda de estribor debe escorarse al menos 15 grados a babor, y se aprecia que el buque ni se ladea.

You almost have it. You have made this one look more believable than the last one you made. It's just the front of the wave coming out through the metal of the ship, a wave can't do that. But you're getting there. Thank you for posting this clip. Eugene in Ireland 🇮🇪 😊 👍
