Our goal with this Minecraft guide is for you to leave knowing how to get setup in Minecraft 2022 for the long term. The most important thing about Minecraft is surviving first night. Now, as you can see with recent Minecraft updates, things got a bit more extreme in regards to world generation. This is great for extending your want to explore, but the trade off is that it is harder to get started.

The first set in our 2022 Minecraft beginners guide is chopping down trees by punching them with an empty hand. Take these and craft them into planks in your inventory and then craft a crafting table. I recommend for getting started in Minecraft 2022 a flat, open area.

Next in our guide on how to play Minecraft in 2022 is getting food. If you do not get food, you will start starving causing you to lose health. The easiest way to get food at first is killing animals. We’ll go over how to farm for Minecraft beginners after we survive the first night.

Now, I’d recommend finding a cave to call how for your first night in Minecraft. Place your crafting table, and make a pickaxe and start mining. I recommend finding some coal and getting torches as fast as possible. This will make getting started in Minecraft easier. We can also use these to stop mobs above ground at night.

After the first night, come out of the mine and start gathering more wood and build a small house. We have a simple layout for this in the video. It is also a good idea to find some sheep and build a bed.

With a house, we can start learning how to farm in Minecraft 2022. You can get seeds from punching grass and till some ground around water to plant them. This is the most sustainable Minecraft food source.

As far as finding diamonds go, the distribution of diamonds changed last year, and they can now be found between Y 15 and Y -63. The lower the better though, so Y -60 can be a good place to mine. You can also find diamonds while randomly exploring caves.

Smelt that copper for XP and then You can make copper blocks and place them and let them sit to get 4 separate shades of copper, good for decor. XP is the big one tho until you want villagers and then you’ll need a lightning rod.
