I’m actually dissapointed that the haunted mansion flopped since it was a fun time through but I do agree this should have been out near or on Halloween

Dial of Destiny was a great movie, but why it didn’t make as much as it did was because Disney marketed it terribly and the movie didn’t even need to cost that much. I believe Harrison Ford even said that. I love Indiana Jones movies, and it was so sad to see this do so terribly for stupid reasons. Also, great video! 😁

Multiple reasons in my very humble opinion:

People are sick of the same formula, witty one liners and superheroes with the safest possible plots and arcs.

Everything seems to have some sort of social message, which is fine but when every movie is doing it, and by a company as shady as Disney, people start to see through it.

Celebrity culture, it seems people are getting sick of celebrity, and rich people, behaviour in general, look at Cochella and the Met Gala, so big names aren't enough to pull an audience any more.

Lack of real diversity, and I don't mean in a racial or social sense, but a lot of films looks the same, flashy, colourful, too slick and saturated, sometimes people want realism and grit.

Lack of 18s in cinema, too much safe 15s or PG-12s have taken the thrill out of cinema.

Haunted Mansion was actually really good. The plot lines were predictable, but it had some really funny beats and it had DANNY DEVITO and OWEN WILSON in the same movie.
You're right, unfortunately, that it suffered from what I call Monster House syndrome in that it would have been a box office hit had it come out a few months later

Edit: You have to be aware going into it that it is a kid's movie that is a remake of a previous telling. It is far from perfect, but it is at least a good break from reality
