A wonderful movie! I am not a shame to say that I cry at the end of this movie every time I see it. I am so very glad it cannot be remade. Its stars Greer Garson who died 25 years ago today, and Ronald Coleman were perfect as Paula and "Smitty".There chemistry so romantic and wonderful. This film prove that love does not die, that it continues on no matter what happens.

One of my favorite films of all time. The two main characters are so kind to each other which makes me love this film so much.

Extraordinary movie about how love really does conquer all. Very noble. Incredible acting. Ronald Colman and Greer Garson are wonderful together, and the chemistry between them is palpable.

It is a shame that many movies even ones 60-80 years old are still copyright protected and not public domain. Most if not all actors have passed away years ago.

All I can say is that they don't make films like this today. I've just watched it again for the umpteenth time and was pretty emotional by the enduring and patient love Paula has for Charles (Smithy). There couldn't have been a dry eye in the cinema when it was first shown. One of my all time favourites.

My favorite movie. Does anyone see the resemblance between Greer Garson and a young Meryl Streep.?

Interesting how it isn't compared to Gone With The Wind.

Not much of a trailer; just saying they made a wonderful movie out of a great book.

This novel is not well remembered. Fairly or unfairly?
