Iran President Ebrahim Raisi and other officials including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian died in a helicopter crash in a mountainous area of the country on Sunday. Jane Kinninmont, policy and impact director at the European Leadership Network, discusses the events and the potential implications for regional geopolitics. "We don't know what is going to happen in terms of the blame game, whether the government will see this as a tragic accident or whether they will try to cast blame on others," Kinninmont tells Bloomberg Television.

There will be no huge changes or implications. The real leader is Ali Khamenei. The Mullahs are still in power and do not seem weaken at all. A sudden change favouring the US and its policies in Iran or around the region is definitely a wishful thinking.
