The Detroit Locker came in a M1028A3 I acquired. (K30 Dually). What a beast. Paired with 4.56. Unstoppable truck.

Have a Detroit Locker with a Moser ford 9 inch housing in my 66 chevelle since 2004 . It is a direct conversion from the weaker yet very good 12 bolt factory rear end . The upper and lower control arms fit perfectly and the DL forces you to use the 35 spline axles rather than the considerably weaker 28 or 31 spline axles . This guy can handle if memory serves about 800ft lbs torque and 1000 HP . It's not a slacker and nearly bullet proof . I have no problems straight or taking corners . The cost is the same or so close to clutch positrac units it is a no brainer . Made many 11.00 passes in the qtr. mile and drive it to work just because I can . This is what you want if you never want to work on your rear end again . Use 1350 u joints and crown victoria rear disc brakes to save wilwood money if your on budget . Enjoy from TX

I have a 14 Bolt "Corporate" or "Government" (G80) factory limited-slip (4:10 gears) in my 1996 3/4 4X4 Suburban, 8600 GVW, 7.4L Gas. Is there an "Upgrade" clutch pack or something to make it more robust or to lock sooner and longer and harder? I would install and lunch box locker, but it requires a different carrier.

I can remember when clutch type limited slip differentials were de rigueur and Detroit Lockers were only used on trucks. Are you sure that Detroit Lockers can be used on front axles ?
