I Wish Genshin Impact Would Do What Honkai Star Rail JUST DID:

They QoL changes coming to Honkai Star rail would be amazing in Genshin Impact, and I'd be shocked if they don't follow in HSR footsteps. Genshin needs to do a bit better on their quality of life changes, and doubling down on their good content to make it even better!

Feels bad that every QoL thing we wanted in Genshin is going straight into Star Rail…

Man, its just so frustrating. Genshin could have everything. Incredibly smooth and quite complex combat mechanics, without being too overbearing; breathtaking open world; amazing characters with tons of charm and charisma; outfits, that are just out off this world; engaging story and deep lore; esthetics that are unparalleled, not just in gacha, but in any game, hell even beyond gaming. If they could only develop some meaningful endgame combat content, there would almost be no flaw.. Well, besides Paimon, but I guess I could live with one flaw..

planar infinity was INCREDIBLY fun. It felt so fun to just be ridiculously OP and crush through everything for an event. probably my favorite HSR event. meanwhile genshin gets a misty dungeon rerun, but they managed to dumb it down even more to make it as boring and vanilla as possible -_-

I’m glad you made this video because it's so true! I go back to Genshin and love just roaming around new areas fighting stuff, but then it loses me with all it's dumb stingy systems that don't just let me play the damn game. And at the same time it punishes me for having a busy week where I can't play every single day. HSR will save up your "resin" while you're away, and also have extra stuff to do when you have more time.

I stopped playing genshin when nahida had dropped and when I saw how much better honkai was with how well the endgame is and easier to grind. It made me comeback to genshin even less. The fact that I don't have to wait for tuesdays to come around so I can farm for a specific character was amazing to hear

The card game in genshin isn’t fun (imo). We need a combat based end game

I just want to say, its not impossible for Genshin to have fleshed out rogue-like mode with combat skill modified. Hi3 have them, which proves that they can actually implement 3D combat roguelike without much problem. The problem is that they have no intention on doing so. Its less of "they can't or they didn't know" it's more of a "They did not want to".

it's really just a stab to the gut to see just how much more the HSR devs are in sync with the playerbase compared to Genshin; even ignoring the fact that Genshin has a prominently casual playerbase, there's still so many QOLs they could add that they simply refuse to; HSR devs actually understand the game, and know what the players want, meanwhile Genshin just sees their monthly earnings and remain content with how things are since they'll still earn money the next month

-we STILL can only use 6 artifacts at a time to level up relics; even if they just increased the cap to 20 at a time(like with weapons), it'd be a harmless QOL for casuals and it'd be a HUGE QOL to meta players
-we STILL have to repeatedly run through domains and collect the loot from the tree, when they easily could just add the option to reselect the "challenge key" again and defeat the enemies again before collecting the loot en masse at once
-we STILL don't have any kind of standard banner pity
-we STILL don't have unlimted enemy tracking from the adventurer's handbook
-we STILL can't reorganize your food inventory or "favorite" the useful dishes
-we STILL can't repeat weekly bosses (It's infuriating to have Furina and know that it'll take WEEKS before I can finally max out her talents just cuz of a new weekly boss)
-we STILL can't convert leftover world boss drops into other world boss drops(or just anything useful)
-we STILL can't summon the waverider in certain areas of Mondstadt and Liyue(like seriously, how hard is it to plop down a waypoint near the lake around mondstadt city or by dawn winery)

the list goes on and on, and plenty of it completely ignores any kind of "endgame" QOL for stuff like restarting abyss chambers and stuff

Yeah its the main reason why HSR is my "Main" gacha now, and the fact the quests are so straight forward and don't have thousands of dialogue lines for a simple point is a blessing. This last Archon quest was good but dear lord did I feel it was dragging to long in certain parts, I don't know at this point if its because the VA's talk at the slowest pace possible or its because the dialogue is just too long for it all to be summarized in a simple sentence.

I do think the dev team are still in a comfortable spot, realistically the ones that do want changes like myself and many others online we are probably just a fraction of the amount of people that actually do enjoy the game for being a textbook simluator and have no interest in combat related things. While I do think its logical for them to not even try adding anything new besides open world/ story stuff I do feel HSR has proven that the genshin dev is the problem not the company.

The refusal for the devs part to add change and experiment beyond the minigame events, and taking 3 years to add simple QoL updates that HSR and many other gacha games already have is just baffling. I understand the whole "If it ain't broken don't fix it" mentality but I feel genshin has such a strong fanbase that it wouldn't kill them to branch out a bit especially now that the archon quests are basically done, a lot of these filler patches should be dedicated to revamping or updating old systems, QoL updates, maybe even introducing new PERMANENT combat related gamemodes.

Honkai has demonstrated the following:
It respects our time more with a larger energy pool, auto battling and, now skip options for easy content
They are not afraid of introducing more challenging content
They are looser with our money. It's, quicker and cheaper to level. They offer MORE rewards

The problem is the sunk cost fallacy of genshin players(I still play too btw). Those players have been holding out for things to get better for ages. At first it was, "Just wait until Inazuma, the map will double in size", then it was "Wait for sumeru they just need to get the last element in the game and then they'll go nuts with the combat fully". Now Honkai is doing everything amazing by comparison and genshin players go "oh, see, see! Mihoyo can do awesome things, I bet they do something good in Genshin, they have to because its their biggest title!"

I wish too Mtashed, but it ain't going to happen. Content creators and most of the community have been asking for this stuff for years. I gave up when they admitted in the interview that they didn't want to give players anxiety over difficult content.

No, we know the real reason. If they introduce content that's "hard" then you might get a whale or two that lacks the skill to beat it and then devalues their own investment in the game ultimately leading them to quit. It's about the bottom line and that's fine. What they've done is fine by giving the audience who enjoys power gaming a bit more a different game to sink new money into.

If there was a souls-like gacha game, hell if Elden Ring just straight up copy pasted and did a gacha system with the same kind of difficulty as Seikiro or Bloodborne whichever company put it out would make hand over fist mountains of money for the next however long they want. Now I'm just rambling

TLDR - honkai gewd

The Infinite Dungeon mode... roguelikes have this since forever I didn't understand why that wasn't added earlier

There’s also going to be self modeling resin and other rewards added to a new MoC shop, that was the only part you missed at the end

I agree - if Genshin devs put the work they do for minigames into refreshing weekly content, it would be so good! The irony is that they don't want to make "stressful" endgame content - but I'd argue that using timers is what usually stresses ppl out. You can do timer modes for those that like it but I just think it focuses so much on speed that you don't get to use all these character's unique kits to their potential.

Would be awesome if there were three modes that cater to different preferences: timed, not timed, and maybe a buffing mode for using weird team comps or how many 4* in the team...etc - but all 3 are equally weighed in difficulty. Then it gives more incentive to put together fun teams, not just the fastest ones.

Also a weekly boss refresh would be nice too - they all feel like fighting the oceanid to me lol

But fr though, with genshin having multiplayer feature, I'm still surprised, that they wont feature a gamemode that is 1) combat centric 2)Multiplayer focused 3)Raid-like feature 4) Fun and rewarding. No i'm not talking about farming for gear. i'm talking about endgame content here. I can farm for gear myself. I want something that actually challenges the players for the heck of it like spiral abyss but multiplayer

Also I feel like the HSR story and characters are much better. Every character in HSR feel so alive with their dialogues and the messaging system.

Genshin could definitely do something like Devil May Cry’s Bloody Palace. It is timed, but you gain time for defeating enemies and not taking damage. This prevents camping tactics and encourage good play, but it’s easy to bank up on time in the early stages and spend it later on harder boss fights.

Combine this with something like Misty Dungeon, and I’d be more than happy to do the abyss each reset.

Yes, the current story now in genshin is really good, but the Qol needs to improve more but sadly its not gonna happen, the devs are keep ignoring our suggestions for genshin
