2023 Oscar Predictions: Best Picture | Awards Predictions

This year’s film awards season is already shaping up to be an exciting and unpredictable race with less than two months to go before Oscars Sunday. This couldn’t be more true for the Best Picture category, which is teasing some promising nominations that could coalesce into a very strong lineup.
In this video, we will be predicting a Best Picture nomination list of our own. It’s a task, in some ways easy and in other ways difficult.

In order to properly assess what will and what might be nominated for Best Picture, we’ve broken things down into two sections. There are six films that may as well be a lock while, somewhere out there, there are four more, that, for a variety of reasons, aren’t quite there yet but have a good chance of filling out the ballot.

I think Nope might be a surprise entry. Other than that agree to pretty much everything here.

They shouldn't even put Avatar 2 up for best special effects. That should go to RRR as I got more joy per frame per penny spent on special effects, with Avatar 2 its sorta just... "Yep, that's CGI trying to not look like CGI... $100, 000 a frame you say? Hope you got your money back."
